Ok, who has one? Who wants one? Who NEEDS one? Who is addicted? What games do you have/want?

This isn't your ordinary system...it really isn't. I have had mine for a while...but just recently have I REALLY started to use it and really started loving it.

Every weekend...Tiger Woods '08 tourney at my place...before the football games. It's so addictive and fun!

Super Mario Galaxy was well worth the wait as I feel it's the greatest Mario adventure yet. The score alone is amazing!

I have Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. Very fun as a party game or with more than one person...but it's kinda boring alone. (BTW...this game REALLY gets your heart moving and the sweat beading :) )

I also have Madden '08 but haven't played it enough to really say I enjoy it.

Hehe, BTW...if you do have it and haven't looked into it yet...Nintendo is giving away replacement parts for systems purchased in 2006. Thicker wrist straps and rubber grips that make the Wiimote more ergonomic.

Hehe, if you have any accident stories...I'd love to hear those too :)

MY BIL has one.... I just usually play Guitar Hero when I visit.

I like it... its a fun system. :)

I still dont have a new(er) gaming console (my gaming computer rig is just fine, and the specs are maxed out to boot). However... the PS3 is looking more attractive now with blu-ray.. and the next GTA game hitting in March-ish.

Friend has it... it's been Wii Sports for the past year between us, but now he's got Guitar Hero and Mario Galaxy. :sohappy:

We played Guitar Hero/Wii Sports at the family Christmas party; my aunt, naturally, loosened the strap and proceded to chuck it at the plasma-screen TV during a particularly vigorous bowling session. Small wonder it didn't even make a dent.

I've got a few games for the Wii. Guitar Hero III is a blast. Also have The Simpson's Game. Madden '08 is the most fun I've had with Madden so far, because the controls are very intuitive. I also got the new Wii Zapper with Link's Crossbow Training which is well worth the $25 it costs. Other than that, the next game for me is going to be when the new Super Smash Brothers game comes out since I've already paid for my pre-order.

My bother got one for Christmas and we had a blast on it. Depending on how Uncle Sam treats us this year we might pick one up in the next few months.

The nephews got Wii sports for Christmas. We had a blast and now I need to get one for our house. Watching my 70-year-old mother box was priceless!

BIL got that game for XMAS... and it is a blast! I'm pretty decent at it. :sohappy:

I love my Wii. We played at family get-togethers over the holidays and had a blast. I have zapper w/ Crossbow Training, MarioParty 8, Carnival Games, Super Paper Mario, Shrek the 3rd, Golden Compass, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Cars, Boogie, Spyro, and Guitar Hero III. My DH has Need for Speed Carbon, Splinter Cell, Red Steel, and Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles. My DH smack my DS4 in the head with the remote while bowling @ MIL's house on Thanksgiving. She has a very small living room.

My brother's big present this Christmas was the wii...and we're both kinda unimpressed with it. Super Mario Galaxy is nice and all, but...would've been better with a GameCube controller. Other than that game and the upcoming Super Smash Bros. (the real reason we had to get a Wii) there's bupkis in the real games department. The sports things and Wii Play is fun and all...but it's like having a whole console just to play MiniGames.

:hammer:

Signing in the WiiMotes are wonky, and always take forever. The Miis are fun, but again, it's just too gimmicky. Really the best thing on it, is the fact that you can play Pokemon Snap on it.

It did make me love the 360 more...great games, easy to use and get all signed up on, and you can make it your own. Long live Xbox 360!

I will definitely agree with you on this statement!

You have to do it every time you turn the thing on!

I disagree with the Mario Galaxy being better with a Gamecube controller...how would you grab and shoot your stars? It's so much better aiming the Wiimote than trying to aim it while running using two different analog sticks.

I have Zelda...what is this "Crossbow Training" you guys are talking about?

I LOVE this system, but correct me if Im wrong, arent they still extremely hard to get?? Ive been keeping an eye and thought on one, but I cant ever seem to find one when I really want it, lol. Every time I see my bro-in-law it is a constant battle of who is better at what games. Hehe. Its a lot of fun!

It's supposed to be like that one, but with more people to play as. (Kirby Vs. Solid Snake! Cool!)
:D

The crossbow training comes with a zapper thing, and is (Guess what?) A MINI GAME! Yay!!!

I'm begining to think that Toy Story Mania will pretty much sum up all of the Wii gameplay.

It's a game that comes bundled with the new Wii Zapper peripheral. It is designed to hold the Wiimote and Nunchuck in a way that makes it easy to aim and looks a bit like a Tommy Gun:

zapper.jpg

Link's Crossbow Training has a few different styles of play. There's Target Shooting mode, which involves first person view and trying to hit targets that early on are stationary, but move in various ways in later stages. Defender mode which involves Link being in a stationary point or in one stage on the back of a moving wagon and instead of shooting targets, you are shooting monsters. Ranger mode, where you use the stick on the Nunchuck to move Link around and try to kill a number of creatures. The more hits you get in a row, the higher the multiplier you get for your score on that target. So if you hit 10 targets in a row that are 30 points each, your 10th target is worth 300 points as an example. The last two stages also have bosses to fight and you get huge multiplier bonuses for killing them fast. Overall it's a lot of fun and makes it worth getting the Zapper.

Here are some images of the gameplay:

Santa brought it. We have an almost 4 year old and a just turned 6 year old. EVERY NIGHT IS MARIO PARTY NIGHT IN OUR HOME. We have yet to start cracking open the other games at all. We can set the time of the games by the number of turns (30 min for every 5 turns) and play at least a game or sometimes 2 or 3 as our evening activity as a family. We don't watch TV anymore. The kids have a blast. Mom and Dad damn the presence of Bowser each and every time. We're thinking of Olympics next w/Sonic/Mario. Galaxy is something TOTALLY NEW AND INNOVATIVE. It's really got a weird learning curve too. Simple to pick up and really fun to play as a two player. But levels get VERY hard and take lots of focus.

Anybody have any other suggestions for family games. We still have just two Wiimotes too. Anybody have suggestions on how to pick up another two without shelling out $80? We already go the WiiPlay pkg.

OH... I am kinda ticked that I now have to pick up a wireless router to get online, my cable internet doesn't hook up to it. Anybody have suggestions what to get? N?? G?? How much will it cost me? $30 $50 $80 $100??? I only have one computer so it would be pointless to have anything that would be above and beyond just what would be necessary for the Wii. The computer and Wii are also less than 15 feet away if that matters..

Check with your internet service provider to see if they have a wireless modem available. If you already get your modem from them, you may be able to have them swap it out, then you wouldn't need the router. I have Verizon as my provider and the modem I got from them was wireless and the Wii is able to contact it without any additional equipment.
