Why do I still feel bad...?

My DD has been to princess dinners & breakfasts on each of our trips (CRT, Princess Storybook, 1900 Park Fare), but this year, she did not want to be separated from her dad & 2 older brothers during meals.
Of course, the boys don't want to do any princess meals at all - they did 1900 Park Fare for dinner 2 times & they tolerated it.
I asked my DD if she would rather go to Princess Storybook for dinner or to Teppan Edo...she thought about it for a minute & said that she really wanted to see the princesses, but she wanted everyone to eat together.
Princess Storybook is out of the question for the boys.
Now, on our last visit to Princess Storybook, she did not eat anything!...She was too anxious to see the princesses.
So, why do I still feel bad about not taking her to a princess meal?
Do you think we will still see enough princesses in the parks?

Well, kids know what they want. My daughters are the same way.

She obviously realizes that its more important to her, right now, to be together with everyone. Why not do another character meal (without princesses) with everyone, and maybe plan a princess meal with just you and her (the girls nite out :D)? I would suggest Akershus at Epcot.

We did Princess Storybook together on our last trip & it was a lot of fun! We are planning to do Chef Mickey's & Crystal Palace as our character meals on our next trip! :D

Those are great choices. Wonderful character meals for everyone to go to without the princesses.

Maybe you can compensate her princess meal by taking her to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.:D

You'll see enough Princesses without doing a meal if you plan it right.

The Princesses are meeting in Adventureland now and the queue gets quite long (I think it's due to the fact that Tink isn't next door to them anymore). Get to the Adventureland M&G good and early and she will get to see three Princesses there (I believe?).

And then there's World Showcase... Snow White in Germany, Sleeping Beauty and Belle in France, Jasmin in Morroco, etc. I think Mary Poppins and Alice makes apperances in United Kingdom.

It's only temporary, until they move in with Mickey in Town Square Theatre.

And it's not like you can see them outside in Adventureland, they're indoors!

I personally don't think it's that big of a deal while the MK is in so much transition!?!

I just can't justify characters being out of position. They won't belong when they move to Main Street either. I'll accept any of the princesses in Fantasyland (even though some of them are a stretch), but there is at least one place for each princess to be while MK is renovated that would make a lot more sense than Adventureland.

Snow White: Germany
Cinderella: France
Aurora: France
Ariel: The Seas
Belle: France
Jasmine: Adventureland, Morocco
Pocahontas: Frontierland, The American Adventure
Mulan: China
Tiana: Liberty Square, The American Adventure

I can't say for sure as I only have girls. But I think I'd tell the boys to grin and bear it. If the one thing my daughter asked for was a princess meal with the whole family, she'd get it. And the boys better not complain either. I know that's how it would have worked when I was a kid (4 boys and 2 girls and the girls got everything they wanted.)

But you know what's best in your situation.

What about 1900 Park Fare for breakfast? She'll get Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland, and the boys can enjoy the antics of the Mad Hatter, and everyone can enjoy Tigger and Winnie the Pooh.

Maybe this means I'll be a mean parent someday, but I would definitely tell the boys that they can live with princess stuff for the hour or two it takes to eat dinner. In our family everyone got to pick one restaurant, and you didn't say anything negative about others' choices since they got no say over your pick.

For the love of all that is holy please don't ruin EPCOT too!

No, I'm totally with you. Everyone should get one pick which can't be vetoed and everyone else just has to play nice.

That's exactly what I was thinking, too. No offense intended to the OP, but one of my pet peeves is the extent to which parents these days bend over backwards to cater to the kids and let them run the show. I'm all for trying to tailor the trip to make everyone happy, as in doing things that each person particularly wants to enjoy, but there comes a point where one person's interests conflict with someone else's, and someone is just going to have to suck it up and deal with it. Myself, I could personally do without a trip to the ocean on each trip, but it's something my wife wants to do, so I throw that into the itinerary for her. Similarly, I'm assumming you're doing specific things for the boys to enjoy, so why should your daughter get the shaft? If her special activity is the princess dinner, then I'd say book it, and the boys can just deal with it. If they raise too much of a fuss over it, just remind them you've done some of their activities on this trip, and they should just be thankful that they are even at WDW to begin with, and that they should be thankful for the food they are about to eat, whether there are princesses there or not.

In short, just remind them who the parents are and who is in charge. :D

I would definitely feel bad too. Its hard to please everyone but Disney is all about girls feeling like princesses and I think the boys need to let their sister be a princess! You could let them pick something that is #1 to them to balance it. It's probably pricey but what about the Pirate Cruise one night? Go with your heart on this, it is a family vacation, meant to please your whole family. :)

I have to keep in mind that my DD has gotten to do BBB & CRT more than once on some of our trips & my 2 DS didn't do anything extra...except on one trip they did do the Pirate Cruise & my DD didn't.
I made the final choices on the ADRs.
My DD said that she was fine w/ just seeing the princesses in the parks...it is me that's feeling a little guilty...she doesn't really seem to care.
