You'll be fine, but, from the looks of that picture... I probably didn't come out all happy faced.Glad to know I'll arrive home safely.![]()
Feel better?
The more the merrier.. you have 5 places.. thats one per week!
No I'm not originally from Seattle. I am from Albuquerque but have ties to both Seattle and Alaska.
Yes. And if I ever hurt anyone's feelings, I am sorry. It is never my intention to do so.
Nope, the only surgery was for my wisdom teeth. But the day the insurance laws change I will likely be the first in line for Cochlear Implant.
The very first day the USA delivered vaccinations to Doctors Offices my children were the among the very first to receive the Chicken Pox vaccine.
Absolutely. Life is too short. You've never hurt mine.
I just assume people come here to play and have fun, so I try to never take anything personally and just roll with it. I like to think it is all meant in jest, although sometimes things clearly are not. Even then, who cares for the most part. As is said all the time, but, I think bares repeating often...

A shot "gun" injection scares me just reading about it. Of course I don't like needles.....at all.I've been going through old papers, and came across an article from 1962 talking about Cleveland's SOS program. Sabin Oral Sunday - thousands lined up to receive polio vaccine - one dose per month X3 doses given every Sunday May - August. $&1/2 million doses were given - at ballparks, schools, fire stations, even camps. 90% of the residents received vaccinations. It was so effective because it could be given orally (rather than by injection) and also promoted intestinal immunity, preventing spreading the virus via waste matter.
I had every type of polio virus there was - shots, by "gun" (pneumatic high pressure injection) and sugar cube. It's hard to describe the fear this virus instilled - a HS friend's mother literally dropped while hanging clothes in the backyard, and was paralyzed for the rest of her life. She was on a chest compression respirator for the rest of her life - need to go back into the iron lung from time to time. She died in 1980. I knew neighbors/classmates who used leg braces and crutches.
If I may, I'd like to share my own perspective on the "like" button. First of all, I respect your opinion and am glad you told us. My own interpretation of the like button has always been either for something that I really liked, or just that I wanted to acknowledge your post (as in, thank you for posting). Apparently, people interpret things differently, and this is my own understanding.
I've given this a lot of thought. Perhaps a compromise might be for the moderators to add an additional button such as maybe a simple checkmark (I don't have a picture, but just a general checkmark), and maybe that could be used as an "acknowledgement" button (for people like myself, that care to use it).
I've been a forum member now for over a year. This is the first and only forum I've ever joined. I have followed the lead from others in liking many posts for various reasons, because that's what I thought we were supposed to do. And, speaking for myself here, I've certainly never, ever, asked or hinted to anyone, for any "likes" as that was the least important thing for me, personally. The happiness I have received from these forums is the great information sharing, humorous posts, and a sense of community and fellowship from my fellow members.

And now we know why it takes @donaldtoo so long on Half Day Friday for his beer run.

Yeah I agree life is too short. I work in healthcare and I watch people die and families grieve. I guess that is why I try so hard to be positive and caring, because I see the saddest and happiest times in people's lives. ( I also help deliver babies.) So I thought I would share why I strive to be nice. I am in no way a people pleaser. I just want to be nice and helpful. To me there is a distinction. I just felt the need to explain myself here on this thread to people who share a sense of community. In light of how things have gone askew here a bit. But enough with seriousness. You've never hurt mine.
