Amen!View attachment 63724
I'm sorry to see that there have been a lot of hurt feelings on this thraed in the past few weeks. It was such a fun and happy place to come and hang out. I hope that everyone will soon return and it will revert back to what it once was.....
Yea!!!!!!!!!Okay I'm back. Told you it would only be a day or two.
I guess I'm naive, but I don't care for people being deliberately hurtful.
FYI - it wasn't my feelings that were hurt. I'm fairly thick skinned. Just ask @Goofyernmost.
I was hurt because other people were hurt. Like I said, that's not how I roll.
Thank you for the PM's. I appreciate the concern. The core group of people here are outstanding folks, and I would be honoured to meet any of you and buy you a Dole Whip (float)!
I do not intend to reveal what ticked me. I discussed it at length with one of you already. At this point it would just be gossip. And as my mom always said - Gossip doesn't have to be untrue to be harmful.
Pity party over. I'm all better.
Now to go back and see what you've all been up to in the past 30+ hours.
We looove Famous Dave's. For a chain, it offers pretty decent bbq. This reminds me that I ate at Famous Dave's for the first time recently. We ordered the big platter that had brisket, ribs, pulled pork, a half chicken, cornbread, baked beans, cole slaw, corn on the cob, steak fries and Texas toast. It said "for 2-3 people" but 4 of us shared fine with leftovers.
I've had 7 - one of which was major, 10 years ago. Four were minor. One was the removal of 4 wisdom teeth, two of which were impacted. And the most recent one was last year's hysterectomy.no other surgeries?
you're lucky, I had 9 surgeries including 2 "major" ones.
That was a common fun joke between my late dad and me.. boasting about how many surgeries we had. (he had the worst one, but I had the most)
So ... it's not just me.I had to take 24 hours last weekend, others had to last week also, taking a breath is important. Jen had a bad family day yesterday, as you all know I had 3 family members killed in a car accident, just a bad personal day.
As last night was unfolding, thread names changing and changing again my head began to pound worse than it did when I got that awful call from my Mom yesterday.
I just keep telling myself we agreed to a TRUCE and we were TOLD there would be a truce. The white flag went up.
I'm going to try and stick with that and move forward. So as members are unliking countless posts they liked over the past year or so, I have to let that go. I might not understand unliking vast amounts of posts but that has to be fine. We are here for laughter and we are here for each other when we need to be picked up by our bootstraps.
As @Cesar R M stated this afternoon, Such Silence. It can be a good thing. Go for it @JenniferS take all the time you need. When you come back we will be here for ya.
This really made me smile!Ha!
You betcha! You two have the oddest friendship and it is priceless.
But you're his human mommy. You can fix everything! My left foot is dead—no feeling. My 56-pound dog is laying on top of it, which has cut off my circulation there; because he thinks that laying on my foot will stop the thunder outside.![]()

Son: What are you laughing at?I can see it now....."You all sit down and be quiet! No we're not there yet! Don't make me turn this bus around!"![]()

The problem is not with the "likes" in and of themselves.Well I like "likes"
I've been going through old papers, and came across an article from 1962 talking about Cleveland's SOS program. Sabin Oral Sunday - thousands lined up to receive polio vaccine - one dose per month X3 doses given every Sunday May - August. $&1/2 million doses were given - at ballparks, schools, fire stations, even camps. 90% of the residents received vaccinations. It was so effective because it could be given orally (rather than by injection) and also promoted intestinal immunity, preventing spreading the virus via waste matter.
I had every type of polio virus there was - shots, by "gun" (pneumatic high pressure injection) and sugar cube. It's hard to describe the fear this virus instilled - a HS friend's mother literally dropped while hanging clothes in the backyard, and was paralyzed for the rest of her life. She was on a chest compression respirator for the rest of her life - need to go back into the iron lung from time to time. She died in 1980. I knew neighbors/classmates who used leg braces and crutches.
No worries. You are way too nice for that.Yes. And if I ever hurt anyone's feelings, I am sorry. It is never my intention to do so.
Freaky!Today's wake-up picture

I try not to count things - math gives me a headache...The problem is not with the "likes" in and of themselves.
The problem is with keeping a tally, and posting a leaderboard.
It's turned some people into a bunch of third graders counting who got the most Valentines.
They don't bother me in the least.A shot "gun" injection scares me just reading about it. Of course I don't like needles.....at all.
