What's your darkest Disney secret?

- I always thought the Horizons pavilion looked a bit bland on the outside. (But once inside...oh boy!)

- I think SSE is the most fascinating stucture in the world. I am drawn towards it almost as much as those people were drawn to that mountain in 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind'.

- Splash is genius, but I do wish it was not build were it is. I feel it infringes on the continuity of theme in FrL.

- I don't bother with healthy food in WDW. Gimme junkfood while I'm there!

- I was once given a tour of the utilidors by a CM. I was kicked out fairly soon, the CM was severely reprimanded. (He was eyeing my sister, and hoped to impress us with a tour. Still love him for it, hope it ended up okay for him)

Enormous fail.:hammer:
Looks like I touched a nerve!

The original JC didn't have a humorous spiel. The attraction started out as a serious attraction.

Then it got...dumbed down. A tacky tone was added, the spiel and several humorous show scenes. Yes, dumbing down has been going on since the early sixties. And in fifty years time, people will think you barking mad for suggesting Nemo be removed from the Living Seas, because it adds a tacky feel that the attraction doesn't need.

Which goes to show that one person's dumbing down is another one's plussing. I know I'm so much in the minority about JC that it borders on eccentricity.

Don't mind the Hat.

My kids love JII. They never rode orignal so I love it because it brings them joy.

I buy pins for my kids so they have to pin trade while I help. It's fun!

Love Yak & Yeti.

Love Stacey.

Never thought I would drive to parks but now it's I'll we do. Makes leaving the park so much better when we're tired.

Love LeCellier.

Never watched film after Maelstrom.

I pretend Characters are real.

Think Rafikis Planet Watch is fun.

Love M:S.

Like Nemo show but I miss Tarzan Rocks. It was fun!

Wish I could do the cowboy oath and parade at Whispering Canyon.

Every time I watch PhilharMagic the more it's becoming my favorite thing at WDW. It's pure magic .

I point out the ridiculous things that people gripe about here while on vacation to my wife.

You would be surprised how much of Disney is disliked by a few people.

"Oh...we hate X..." :)

Secrets

:pI like Carousel of Progress.
:pI like Spaceship Earth - pre and post refurb (including the fake wood smoke)
:pI like riding in the front of the monorail
:pMy family treats pin trading like an elaborate war plan - we collaborate on the bed each night and make our preparations for the next day's hunt. We are like pin snipers!
:pI cry when they do little kid parades at Crystal Palace and Chef Mickeys. It's just so sweet to see the little happy innocent faces!

2) The Boardwalk is themed to reflect the oldtime seashore Boardwalks that were by nature very "tacky" but also fun. I've stayed at the Boardwalk and it was great the theming was excellent and the feel you got brought you back to that simpler time where people were easier to please and didn't act so entitled.

I'm sure that was their excuse for Paradise Pier too... Obviously it follows the theme great since it looks tacky. You're just making my argument clearer.

Ummm...have you ever seen AA? I'm guessing you haven't, because it really has NOTHING to do with the presidents, and everything to do with the diversity/struggles of American history.

And the HoP doesn't evven come close to touching its greatness.

I have and it is the most BORING thing. American history? Really? That's what you have to represent America? America needs something exciting or something to show the many cultures who flock here. Not history lesson. And I do remember seeing presidents that looked very dated.

HoP > AA

I cry almost nightly becuase I Love disney that much, and whenever my 4 year old and I talk about going there, I just get watery eyes... remembering how much fun we had just make me cry...

I brainwashed my daughter to love Disney as much as me so she can help me convince her daddy that we NEED to go every year... so far its working :)

I would rather sit on my computer and read about disney, watch disney, and talk about disney than watch an ounce of tv, listen to a minute of radio, or go to work... although I have to go to work so thank god for wdwmagic on my cell!!!

Me and my daughter have already made a countdown to disney chain even though we dont have an actual date for our next vacation.... when we have one ill add chains or take away as needed......

While at the parks, I realize that just cuz it's the happiest place on earth, does not mean that my dislike for most people has been put on hold, I hate people just as much in Disney as I do at WalMart at home...

I LOVE Dole Whips and at home make my own alcoholic version with pineapple sherbet, pineapple juice, vodka and Malibu :slurp:

I have more... will add later

and more...
I went to Disneyland my senior yr of highschool... so 6 years ago, and I dont remember a single thing about it... I remember where we stayed, adn the walk to the park, more than I do anything about the park... Seriously... We even performed in a parade for magic music days, and I dont remember a damn thing.... pretty sad.... I also didnt take a single picture in either of the parks... I have tons of pics of nice cars I saw, but not a single pic of disney....

I am also one of the women who secretely is not getting pregnant just because I dont want to miss a trip to Disney.....

Yea, but Walt made the change.

I think you should see it again, because you're pretty much describing AA when you are describing what you want from an American attraction.

Even though I am the OP I think this is one of the most amusing threads I've read yet! :sohappy: It is so fun seeing the human side of all of us and not just the Disney-bot side where we all LOVE Dole Whips and Space Mountain and interacting with characters.

I don't like Frontierland.
I hate, hate, HATE the constant "dreams really come true if you wish hard enough" message that's repeated ad nauseum in the MK.
I've never done HoP or AA

Well I guess if the Boardwalk is so offensive to you, you are lucky there are so many other great Hotels to stay at which is the beauty of Disney if somehow you find something you don't like there are a million other things for you to do or places to be.

But as for AA you are just dead wrong. I understand it's your opinion but your argument doesn't make sense because the show does illustrate the diversity and struggles America has faced as a nation. I'm not sure what kind of excitement you are looking for but I think you should give it another chance if you haven't been in awhile. The only thing I like better in the showcase is Maelstrom.

I hate it when people use flash photography on rides when they are asked not to....It ruins it for me. :(
I too have brainwashed my kids to help me get their dad on board for yearly disney visits.

Sorry need to add to my list...

I really don't like Dinosaur...boring after you do it once. It's one ride I can totally skip and not be upset.

My husband feeds the seagulls popcorn in the parking lots over really expensive cars.

Agree with you 100% on all these points! My wife absolutely loves getting pictures with characters. Some days, the majority of our time in the parks are spent in lines waiting for different characters.
