Hyperion93, I just don't know why such statements are regularly allowed on this forum. This one is mild compared to some others. Of course this post is just a simple example. I have seen far worse.

I could take that as a rude comment, if I so desired. Gosh, isn't this how the whole thing got started? I think Mom can defend herself without anyones help. She has thick skin!

Are you serious? What the heck is going on here?

This is a Disney forum!

Good manners dictate that if you offend someone, whether intentionally or not, you apologize. Not a patronizing apology, a real one. And it is usually done privately first and then publicly at which point if you feel the need to announce it, you say, "I have already apologized to so-and-so and I want everyone here to know that I am sorry."

If you feel that manners do not apply to you, that's a shame for you. Manners were invented to hold society together and keeping things running smoothly--in short, good manners make others feel welcome and minimize hurt feelings.

Do people with strong social skills and a sense of manners "get away" with things people with bad manners don't? Duh! Of course they do--they are using good manners. As some of the people here already know, good manners don't make you a doormat--they can also be used to protect space and make insensitive people look bad. Good manners are one of the strongest weapons we have--politicians know this, media-types know this, PR flaks know this, marketing people know this, and celebrities with good staff know this.

Remember, you can always choose to be gracious, and in the end, it probably feels a little better too (for those of us who like to be a bit smug). ;)

For young people, I recommend a book called "How Rude!" It outlines how to use good manners to get what you want in life (that's usually what it takes, you know).

Tramp, I love ya.... Don't waste any more energy on this nonsense.

And for those of you who feel Steve does a poor job of moderating, I would hate to think you feel uncomfortable. Perhaps this isn't the forum for you. I can't change the attitudes or actions of others, but you really should consider leaving if you think are treated badly. Strong self-esteem should dictate that you don't let anyone treat you in a way you think is inappropriate. To stand around and argue is to let those you feel are wronging you win.

End of sermon.

And Steve, can we get a lock on this thread?

I am pretty tired of your attitude here, and you have just gone beyond the point of no return with your comments to the respected members here. You are now banned.

One of these days I might post my wedding picture....now that was a funny "hat!" (What was I thinking? Oh, now I remember, I was a bride...thinking becomes optional...it's all about feelings! ;)) Mighty, I hope you don't take that as a dig...trust me, a decade from now you'll look back at the insanity you're going through right now and laugh....I hope! ;)
