Were you not once a Premo member? Anywhoo..I dont know why you are all disgruntled....just wondering whats up is all.....trust me...I am not looking for an argument.... :)

I'm not disgruntled and I'm not bitter. And it has nothing to do with Premium Members. My annoyance with this thread is certain people are claiming that personal attacks of any kind are grounds for banning. Yet many of these same people attacked me personally in the past, and one poster in this thread even once started a thread in Chit Chat and called me "Monorail Slime". Some of the things they said were more severe than Hyperion93's little comment, though they did have reasons to be upset with me so I didn't let it annoy me too badly.

I think monorail lime was making a valid observation....it does seem like a group of members are accepting of certain behavior from some people, yet condemn it in others.

I think I've even remarked on it before...there are certain remarks that I might think are acceptable from someone I know really well (and who I know basically thinks well of me, even if he/she is disagreeing with or criticizing me) but I would be offended if someone else made the same remark. (especially if that person has already expressed his/her dislike or contempt for me)

Is it fair? Probably not. Is it typical human behavior? Definitely.

Interesting you should say that... Mickey would be very close to entering the public domain if it weren't for Disney and Hollywood pouring tons of money into lawyers and Congressmen to get certain laws passed. There's a good article about it here.

Sorry you took it as an insult....meant it as a joke...it was in a serious thread about "your favorite smileys"...I didn't start the thread...
I can't believe you carried this with you all this time or didn't just laugh it off...if I thought you took me serious, I would have PMd you a lot sooner than now to apologize...

A PM is on the way to you.

Like I said, I was deserving of flames at that moment so I didn't let it bug me too bad. No hard feelings. :)

What part do you disagree on?

As I have said before, there is a triple standard on this board. Some members just do and say as they please while others are held to a very strict standard. This thread is a very good example. Also, certain members on this board tend to roam the threads to bolster and support each other no matter the logic or content. Some of these same members tend to "gang up" on people who express opinions with which they do not agree. "Think the way we think or hit the road" seems to be a recurrent theme. I have seen several "special" members make rude, crude, insulting, crass and even derogatory and threatening remarks to other members. Yet these same "special" members continue to be allowed to break the rules anytime they wish. They seem to have diplomatic immunity. As a long time lurker and short time member (perhaps shorter than I expect after these remarks) I think that it is wise to respect others opinions. As for the "lame" remark I think it is lame to get upset about the original comment.

I have seen several "special" members chastise others for putting up multiple posts on the same subject. Even the administrator warned members recently about the "Disney might buy Universal" topic and told us to not post multiple threads about this subject. Yet at the very same time the "rejected" thread hit the board and certain members decided to apply it to several different threads in order to make fun of other members and purposely exclude them from regular participation. "Ha ha, we know the subject of this thread and you don't....so there!". I have a lot more to say on the subject but I will hold back. The administrator even condones and jokes about "certain" members when they are clearly using swear words such as; "A$$HOLE, F**K". If I were to use such language I would be kicked off as soon as the administrator saw the post. Yet much greater latitude is given to "special" members. The bottom line is, it's not what you know, but who you know. Heck, a thread I participated in got closed because I upset some "special" members. You are not alone.
