This winter has been out of control for everyone! My friend in NC has snow on her palm trees...And here we had -21 temps without any windchill factor last week! My pipes were frozen 2 days. It's forced me onto the dreaded treadmill again, I am not even going to report my distances they are so crappy...
Now it's warmed up to the 20's but we got another 6 inches of snow. It's beautiful and the skiing has been great; but I am ready for spring!
I want to run outside...

4.1 on the TM this morning at 8:48 pace, I bumped up the speed again to get the torture over with faster :/ Actually, I'm just thankful that we still have power and I have the opportunity to run on the treadmill even though I don't like it. The sleet is coming down pretty good, we've got about 1/4 an inch so far.

Yeah, as much as I hate it, I am grateful to own one and have the option to use it when the weather doesn't cooperate. Mine is 8 years old and although it still works great (knock on wood), I worry about it going caput one day. When it does, I hope it's in the warm weather so I have time to shop for a new one and get it delivered while able to run outdoors.

I wimped out and did 4 miles on the dreadmill this AM. More worried about dodging sliding cars. We're staying right above the freezing mark here in middle Georgia so no ice yet. We might miss out.

I had the same thought, but only bumped it to a 10:00 pace. :D

Be glad, it's nasty up here! I'd say we've got about an inch of sleet now and last I hear we were still expected to get 3-6 inches of snow tonight.

Had to get the speed workout I missed last week in today - tomorrow the storm is headed our way so it was now or never.

8x400 @1:40 with warmup and cool down. One split was 1:35 - super crazy to see that I was running a 6:19/mi pace , even if it was only for a quarter mile.

We got several inches of snow on top of our sleet last night. I was out playing with the kids this morning in my trail shoes and it wasn't slick or slippery so I decided I could run outside. It was very slushy in spots and my feet ended up soaked, but that's ok, so much better than the treadmill! Only went 3.5 miles at 9:29 pace but I figured that was pretty good for the conditions and I didn't want to risk falling and getting injured.

We're having a storm system up here.
Eating sand into a 35+ mph head-wind in freezing rain.
No excuses.

We had 6 inches of snow followed by heavy rains. Now we have 6 inches of a slushy mushy mess! We are expecting another 3-6 inches overnight. I am really worried about everything freezing overnight! Next week it is supposed to be in the 50's. Crazy weather!

Got another 7.1 miles in yesterday but my poor knee is so stiff it feels like I am wearing a brace on it. Took my dog for a walk last night and was limping, not good. Still stiff this morning but not as bad, my youngest asked me not to run today, I'm taking his advice, lol

Im alive. Well, sort of. Been stuck in National Meeting design sessions for the last 7 days. Staying at the office till late. Killing me. But, you know didnt miss any of my run.

55 mile week last week with back to back 16's on Saturday and Sunday.

Recovery week this week. Lower miles. Easy weekend with 10 and 6, but Ill probably do more.

Cheaha 50k next weekend. Apparently, the storms we have had down here really torn up Cheaha. So, down trees, tons of debris.... equals more of a challenge. I accept.

14.77 this morning at 9:55, I expected the shorter run this week would be easier but it wasn't. I guess it's all in the mindset - when you know you're in the last couple miles you get worn out. Temp dropped 6 degrees while I was out and it was windy.

Have a good weekend!

Nice runs everyone.

I got outside and did 8 miles, finishing just as another round of snow began. Stuck to the somewhat clearer roads when I could but had to navigate a few icy patches and may have pulled something slightly in my quad. Came home and finally saw Frozen with my daughter and her friend. Great movie!

I hope it's nothing serious!
