10.50 miles this morning. Slight nausea early on, but it passed.
Just downed some Gatorade, shower, then off to work.

Hey, that is awesome, Dave! You are off to a great start. Is there a link to join for 2011? All the links I have found reference the 2010 year, but also an end of January enrollment deadline. Maybe it isn't too late to get in on this if a person can find a current application. Thanks!
I'll be back out this weekend. The top of my right foot still hurts. It has hurt since the marathon. At the rate it is getting better I am saying a bad bruise as opposed to a stress fracture.
I'll keep it light - maybe 6 miles or so.
Signed up for a 5K on Feb 12.

Robins AFB Museum of Aviation Half-Marathon. The full marathon was two laps of the half track. The two marathon leaders lapped me after my 12-mile mark. But I beat my WDW half time by 14 minutes!
Very cool race. Starts among the static aircraft at the Museum, runs around the flight line and runway, across live taxi ways, then through the rec areas and golf course to the finish. An F-15 pilot was doing some aerobatics for us after the start. Won't see that at Disney!
Morning guys. 14 miles yesterday at 8:15 pace. I probably should have skipped yesterdays run and let my heel, heal. It was fine for about the first 8 and then got tender. Jill, I have diagnosed this with an old trainer friend, but this feels like it is more where the AT meets the back of the heel on both side. No swelling or bruising. Weird. One of the very few runs I did not finish and literally had to hobble home from was when I pulled my achilles tendon. After that injury I added a few stretches just for that location to my very short warmup routine, and I've never had a problem since then. Hope you feel better quick!
My heel is still hurting when I pronate. I dont think this is going well. Ill be devastated if this is more serious than Im hoping and Im out on week 15/16 for my Full.72.81 miles last week. Some soreness in my right big toe .

Unfortunately, I can run through about any kind of pain (knee, muscle soreness, illness, etc) but this one I cant. It is a kind of pain when I lift my heel that almost makes you cripple over and fall. It is so weird, so frustrating and I am trying not to beat myself up over a decision to run in my older pair of shoes in all that slush and water last Tuesday. I bet that was when it got injured. It's so frustrating...that tiny injury or pain or cold that could have happened ANYTIME during training, comes right before a race.
Thanks. It is getting better. Im so afraid to go run on it and hear a "pop" or something. I think I might go do a very lite 5 miles at a 10 minute pace tomorrow evening. I have to get out there and see where we are. If it is just tendonitis, then I need to stretch it out.Joel, hope it improves quickly for you.
I did 4 miles this morning @ 9 min pace, wanted to do more, but my ankle is still not 100% and with 2 1/2 weeks before the half, I don't want to push it right now. I am hoping that my last week, where I am going to do a taper, should help it rest as well.
My 305 should be here by Friday hopefully

Anyway. Very sore and tender today. Off today and Monday. I might skip Tuesday and Wednesday run if need be. I have to get this thing "heeled".
Ok, enough with the puns.
Hey Jill. It does feel better but Im scared to run on it. :lol:Oh geez Joel. I hope you're feeling better by now. Take it easy.
It is foggy here too. Looking forward, but yet a little apprehensive about tonight. Ok Nick, Im going to try and run tonight in a slow 5 mile pace to see how the heel does. I really think it is tendinitis since the soreness appears to move around that area a bit from right side, to middle to left. In that case and everything goes well tonight, Ill just run through the pain if it comes up again. Aleve is helping a lot too.10.10 miles yesterday in semi-freezing rain and fog.
Cheers!

I was unaware of this for awhile last year. Sam saw me taking some before a run and gave me a speech for the ages. I had no idea. I took my last dose of Aleve this morning so it should have worn off by run time, but I know that stuff is still in your system of sorts for a few hours. Im not going to load up on it. I dont want to mess with my organs. i appreciate the heads up though. I think that it has helped reduce any inflammation so that it could heal.Sorry about the pains Joel. Holding back is always good (perhaps I should take some of my own advice once in a while!).
Becareful about taking the pain meds before or during your run, especially ibuprofen. I've been reading alot of articles regarding ibuprofen/Advil and long distance/ultrarunning; really screw up your liver, kidneys, etc...I think Tylenol is ok after a run according to the WDW marathon pamphlet we got at the expo.
Good luck buddy!
