Got in 9.5 miles today. First day in awhile that was warm enough to run outside. It was such a nice change from the treadmill.
Unfortunately, it's going to get brutally cold here starting tomorrow night.

10 Miles this am. Nice run. I was a bit tired and was supposedly going to run it hard, but after 2 miles, I shifted gears from 5th gear down to 4th gear and just cruised. I ran about a 7 minute mile 1 and 2.

1:18:12 - 7:45 pace overall.

I think I pulled my right butt muscle the other day and it didnt feel good from mile 5 on. Ill put on my big boy pants and deal with it. :D

Have a great weekend all.

Nick, Le Fem Cat struck again. Mile 1, she was hiding behind a car I was running past and jumped out at me. Scared the crap out of me. I threatened her life again. Le Fem Cat - 2, Joel - 0

That's funny, because I had posted the other day on FB about it being cold and I wish I had a treadmill. One of my friends posted something about maybe getting a monthly gym membership, and I responded that I decided to just suck it up, put on my big boy pants, and go run in the cold.

Speaking of which, my big boy pants were on for 16 miles today - then I went to the mall.

 I really dont mind the cold. Granted, it is NJ cold, but it is cold for us. My run yesterday started off with it about 30 and ended with it at 35. Love it.

Ice packs on you butt muscle is almost a sensitive as ice packs near the junk... for me at least since there is no fat on my butt. Brrrr.

4 miles @ 9:35 pace for me, which is about my normal. I have been only running for about 8 weeks, averaging 15-20 miles per week. I am going to post in here more regularly, in hopes to keep me going and keep learning.

My current "longest" run is just over 10K, but that is really what I am going to work on.

I plan to run the F&W 1/2 next October if things work out, and maybe 1/2 somewhere else before then.

I am on DM as well as Steve K. in Tallahassee.

20 miles this afternoon. Gritted it out. Starting to feel hopeful about completing the full marathon following the half the previous day. Pacing is going to be the key . . . that, plus staying healthy.

Welcome. It is a great little addition to wdwmagic. Hope to see you drop in frequently.

and kudos for the recommendation on the Honey Stinger. That really gave me an early boost. :king:
Thanks be to Nick. I love that stuff. It goes down a lot easier than GU at 6am on about mile 5 or 6. Just dont accidentally inhale slightly while a large portion in in your mouth. It is potent stuff and a little went down my wind pipe. HOLY COW. It was like my throat closed up I couldnt breath for about 30 seconds. Scary stuff.

Hey! Thought I'd jump in! I'm very excited to be running my first marathon at Disney! Did a half in October and beat the goal I set more myself... however 13.1 is much different than 26.2 but I'm sure the Disney spirit and the fun of the race will help me along.

Anyways did a 10 mile run today (it was a step back week for me before running my second 20 miler next Sunday) it was suppose to be 12 but my knee has been acting up so I stopped and switched to an elliptical for another mile before I got bored.

Anyways for anyone not a fan of gels, I've been using PowerBar Energy Gel Blasts.. They are gummies and I usually have a problem with getting hungry on my long runs (really anything over 7 or 8 makes my stomach feel like a bottomless pit) so putting some "substance" in my belly helps me along.

Good luck training everyone and see you in about a month! :sohappy:

Thanks for the plug! I'm glad more folks are using this stuff rather than GU.

Yeah Joel, I've done that a few times...feels like swallowing broken glass...I guess, since swallowing broken glass is not a frequent activity of mine.

Anyway, like I posted before, I was thinking I would come in just under 85mi this week with one rest day, but it was just about 80mi, barely.

Yesterday's run was great because of the downpouring, but the wind, as always screws me over. and of course scooping out more sand from my mouth when I got home.

Dave and Fmingo, my fellow NJ residents: let's get ready for some cold-a__ temps this week!

leg workout this am.....track workout tonight....21 miles this Saturday :)
Good luck on the long run this weekend.

I have 15 saturday first am. I wanted to get it taken care of Saturday morning. We are supposed to leave the house at 9. That means I have to get up around 5:30, out the door at 6, back by 8 or 8:15, shower, quick breakfast and out the door by 9. It's fool proof. :D

At least it will be cool out.

It looks like you have a recipe for getting in the shower, getting out, and still sweating. I hate when a shower does not 'take'

Ran 4 miles again today, just a little faster than Sunday, was trying to take it easy though, so I am happy with it.

Tomorrow, I plan to run home from the office, it is less than 5 miles, so the distance won't be the issue. I do have to cross one major road at a crosswalk, but the rest should be fine. It is just going to feel really weird to leave the office and run home

I hate that too. That only happens in the summer when it is hot out and I never got really cooled off. I dont think ill have a problem Saturday with it being 32 out.

Flu! :brick:

Guess I get a week off to rest. This isn't what I was looking for with less than 4 weeks to race.
That sucks. Hope you feel better soon.

Spent about 9 hours in the parks today. Not sure how far I walked but my feet hurt. :xmas:
Lucky dog. Those are happy hurting feet.
