Here's a couple of shots from the Polynesian. Sorry about the horrid quality as I had no tripod and some shakey hands... but I did what I could. I basically got only island shots as all the other stuff was hidden behind the building.

Wow! That was a great show. Definitely hope at least of few of those new shells will be featured in upcoming Disney shows. And, Rain, those a re some very nice pics. Thanks to both you and Steve.

Yep very cool mickey head shells - they are going to be very popular!

They also had some very cool, what I can only describe as "slow motion" shells. I'll point them out in the video once it's up. The shells are fairly low levels and seem to just hover in the air - very noisy, and very cool.

Did anyone else see the crown shells? I had never seen those before either.

I was lucky enough to be at the Magic Kingdom last night and saw the show in person. It was totally incredible! A bus driver told us about the show on the way to the Kingdom that night. Just to look for it. The ending was so loud I had to cover up my ears. All boat transportation was stopped for the show. There was quite a back up of traffic leaving the Kingdom afterwards.

If that is ANY indication of what is to come-we are in VERY good hands. Those effects were breathtaking.
Very revolutionary and artsy.Shame they leave a ton of smoke though...They really cloud up the Sky from any IllumiNation.
But then again, that might be good for Lasers-that's a problem ROE has.You would be really able to see them Dance in that.;)
Smoke ain't always a bad thing, son. :D

i was in MK last night and they made announcements that it would be happening over the PA system.

Yep I was referring to the fact it wasn't on guidemaps, schedules etc. Announcing it on the day doesnt give people time to actually plan a trip for it.

Nice pics, Rain! That's far better than anything I've ever done without a tripod.

I watched from the northwest observation deck on the 15th floor of the Contemporary. Lots of new, neat stuff. The finale packed a wallop, I could feel the Tower shaking underneath me. Imagine the intensity of the final shells of IllumiNations multiplied by about twenty. As impressive as it was, though, I don't think it was bigger than the 4th of July, New Year's Eve, or EPCOT 25th shows.

WOW. A-MAZ-ING!!!! Now, where were those Mickey Mouse Fireworks? I couldn't pick them out.

Yes, they were Mickey Mouse heads! Add to me to the list of those who watched the fireworks from the Poly beach (by the Luau Cove). I did not bring my camera nor video camera. We decided at the last miniute to change "date night" plans and see the fireworks too. Other than being downwind (lots of smoke between us and the fireworks) we loved the show. Our oldest was a bit upset that we went to Disney without him. LOL I hope some of the fireworks we saw last night are added to some of the shows!
