If that is ANY indication of what is to come-we are in VERY good hands. Those effects were breathtaking.
Very revolutionary and artsy.Shame they leave a ton of smoke though...They really cloud up the Sky from any IllumiNation.
But then again, that might be good for Lasers-that's a problem ROE has.You would be really able to see them Dance in that.;)

Any word on a HD vid yet?:D

Hi Res coming in about 5 mins. HD coming hopefully later today.

Check out 5 mins 49 seconds in - that is where those slow motion type effects occur - never seen anything like them. They seem to hover.

DH and I were lucky enough to have ressies at California Grill tonight and got to see this display from the rooftop of the Contemporary. All I can say is....Wow!!!

It was incredible. The entire group up there was in awe and the excitement just kept building. It was the most amazing thing I have seen. We had no idea it was going to happen until the server told us there was a "special" display at 9:30. Then, someone on the balcony told us what was happening. Since we are here for our anniversary trip it was extra special.

That's great that you got to be up there!! Glad you had such a great night! :)

At 13 mins 50 seconds the pyro moved the video camera that was mounted on a tripod. NEVER seen a Pyro show do that. Just an indication of the firepower at play here.

This sounds awesome, but...

Sorry, frequent lurker, rare posting: was this advertised / announced in advance anywhere? I would plan a trip around something this spectacular!

Not promoted by Disney, as it's technically a convention - but was talked about on WDWMAGIC beforehand.

Stunning. Thanks, Steve & your source.

The `hovering` pyro reminds me of the single version used at the start of DLCs Remember... Star Tours segment.

And I have to say apart from the high level pyro that style of show is the most DLP-ish show I`ve seen at WDW :)

Something that isnt easy to make out in the video because of the sheer amount of foreground pyro is how much came from the island. There was a ton of stuff out there.

I dont have hard facts on this, but I believe they had around 24+ launch racks on the foreground, arranged in 3 rows (from front to back), then suplemented from firework island out in the lagoon.

WOW!
That ending gave me goosebumps and I'm only seeing it over a computer screen. Where exactly was the video camera at the contemporary? I can't seem to place it.

Thanks again Steve for posting that!

Here's a couple of shots from the Polynesian. Sorry about the horrid quality as I had no tripod and some shakey hands... but I did what I could. I basically got only island shots as all the other stuff was hidden behind the building.
