The estimated total piece count was about 4500. Of course most of that was the low-level Contemporary stuff (aka 1.4G). Still waiting for a confirmation though.

I heard that there was a technical glitch on the computer board just prior to the delayed start time.

I watched from the northwest observation deck on the 15th floor of the Contemporary. Lots of new, neat stuff. The finale packed a wallop, I could feel the Tower shaking underneath me. Imagine the intensity of the final shells of IllumiNations multiplied by about twenty. As impressive as it was, though, I don't think it was bigger than the 4th of July, New Year's Eve, or EPCOT 25th shows.

MK's NYE show was a little over 1400 pieces and the 4th show has a little more than that around 1550, EPCOT's NYE has just over 2000, EPCOT's 25th was over 1000, and EPCOT's 4th of July is 3500 . But most of EPCOT's 4th of July show uses the "big stuff".

*Edit*
Anyone know how big Rockn' Rockets was?

Saw most of the show last night as we were heading home from MK... The finale was hitting right when we pulled up at the house.. Truely amazing.. Not being RIGHT there and realizing it was amazing? That proves how awesome it was!

Did anyone else see the crown shells? I had never seen those before either.

I saw some pink swirl-looking ones but it took me a while to figure out what they were.

Great video but its just not the same on camera. Glad to have been there in person. The show was amazing!

I saw the show from in front of the bus stops at the Magic Kingdom. I called down to the front desk while we were there and they recommended that as a viewing area. While it did not give the best overall perspective We got to see everything, and did not have to try and look through all the smoke of the shells being lit off from the contemporary. I have a bunch of video's and photos that I will be putting up tonight / tomorrow night. I got some really good, clear shots of all the "big stuff" that was being shot off from the lagoon.

This was hands down the best fireworks show that I have EVER seen.

the music for the show made it seem like a perfect fit for World Showcase, yeah this was probably an informal preview of Skydance with dummy music for the beginning and ending and without the lasers part.

suddenly I don't mind seeing ROE replaced with this.

I saw this from Mainstreet and it was truly awe inspiring. Too bad there was no audio from where I was standing.

I was puzzled to say the least, so I asked a CM and they were like, "eh it's a preview." As if it was a normal occurrence. I was just so confused.

Incredible show, nonetheless.

let me just say, those fireworks were amazing! we just happened to be leaving the park that night and tried to get on the boat to go watch the wishes fireworks at narcoosee's. we were stopped because of some firework display. so we decided to sit on the beach area along magic kingdom, heading towards grand floridian. they were AMAZING! i loved them! perfect way to enjoy an anniversary vacation!
