Tons. Kids love me, although I could never sigh the autographs. (fins)

And yes, that's my family.:lol::lookaroun

(anything to avoid a banning/fight, right?)

You know...if I could live in one attraction, I would live in LwtL. Food, water, and biological testing. What's not to love?

It's no SSE, but you are right, it's very livable in there.:lol::lookaroun

Eh, SSE wouldn't have anywhere comfortable to sleep. Lord knows those cars are hard as a rock.

I tried to take a nap in one one time during an evac drill. I was the last person to be evaced so I had 30 minutes...needless to say it's impossible.

Yeah, the boards have gotten crazy around here lately.
Indeed. Maybe everyone just needs a nice trip to Universal...:lookaroun:lol:

Yeah, I know. I wish that SSE07's refurb would have included cushions.:lol:

I'm in. I have my Super Bowl pass I need to use...

I actually asked one of the Imagineers I know why we didn't get pads. He kinda shrugged and joked "We didn't want people falling asleep."

OY!:dazzle::brick::fork:

When a WDI rep, even JOKINGLY goes along with the "oh mah gawd Epcot is boring" shtick, it makes me wanna scream! So FIGHT that stigma of a boring park! Bring us new, original attractions! Refurb SSE so people WON'T fall asleep! Sheesh. The people creating the park dont even believe in it...:dazzle::(

See, now THAT, bothers me.:lol::eek:

Actually, he's a good guy. He seemed to "get" EPCOT. I don't think he believes EPCOT is boring.

I hope not....:dazzle::lol:

I wonder if that's the problem, all these years...Maybe WDI was stupid :)lookaroun) and thought EPCOT was boring. Maybe they tried to cure it with tacky overlays and a wand. Hmm. Thought provoking.:lookaroun:lol:

I know for a fact he was not a wand fan.

And besides...he got me an interview, so I'm not complaining.:lookaroun

And we always look forward to your less than charming sarcasm.

Hey, say what you want about me but leave my sarcasm alone. He never hurt anyone ... actually, I think he has. Little rascal.

When a park goes phase whatever... it becomes news.

I'll just say we have different views of what is newsworthy and leave it at that. I don't make editorial calls here, so all I am offering is an opinion.

Like I said, looking forward to tomorrow's phased closing thread ... and Friday's too!

I've been running this site now for over 10 years and putting up news and info on a daily basis about what's going on in the parks. This period is busier than any other I can recall since I have been doing the site. To me, that is news worthy. If you don't consider it to be, you can just skip the thread.

Steve, if you're saying the parks are busier this week than at any time since before 1999, I'm going to just flat out tell you that you're mistaken.
I was at WDW for the weeks between Christmas and NY in both 1999 and 2000 and these crowds have nothing on those. I was there Easter week (and at Epcot on the actual day) in 2003 and it was packed as well. Hell, I was at MK for July 3-4 in 2002 and 2006 and they had closings.

they've had them annually at Christmas time too ...

Now, you may not recall them or be aware of them, but it doesn't change anything.

Despite what you think, people should read something into this. That something is that the Disney parks are VERY busy right now, and busier than they have been for a long time.

No. That's a fact. I don't dispute that in any way.

But people extrapolating that all's fine both at WDW, in the theme park business or in the global economy based upon crowds Easter week at WDW is where I take issue.

WDW is busy now. (SWO and UNI too) We get that. But it means nothing more than that.

~Let's see what the crowds look like in two weeks~

Crowds are huge but wait times seem to be like a regular crowded day...I just don't get it.:shrug:

yeah ... gee, doncha think that's odd?

no waits of even 90 minutes listed on that MK wait board, yet they reached a Phase 4 close?

I wonder if they've reduced the 'magic number' by 15,000-20,000 people to hit that because those numbers are barely indicative of a moderate day. You can ride any Mountain with about an hour maximum wait?

Take a look at Micechat's Tokyo Board thread about TDL crowds last Tuesday, 3/31 ... compare those wait times to the MK today. There were no guests turned away at TDL at all. ... It just all makes you go (where's Seth and Amy?) REALLY???

Yup. Seems to me the Phase closings today were a bit of an over reaction. Which I don't understand, because you figure they have set numbers to initiate it.:confused:

A cynical Spirit might say Disney would have a vested interest in making their parks appear busier than they are ... obviously fan sites like this will discuss it ad nauseum ... then 'reputable' media outlets pick up on it locally ... which then goes nationally ... suddenly the perception is that WDW is doing gangbuster business which can help with everything from people sitting on the fence about booking to Wall Street analysts who say Disney management must be doing all the right things.

Like I said, it would take a cynical Spirit to suggest such a thing ...

~Why's everyone looking at me?~

Honestly, Steve, I'm not gonna push this anymore because I don't want to be banned.

But after all the stuff that's happened the past few days I honestly don't know how much longer I'm going to be here anyway.

No one should be banned from a site for stating their opinions (even if it, heaven forbid, bashes WDW management).

I would hate to think a site like this would be like that.

If you have to agree with, buy into, believe everything WDW management says or does to take part in this site that should be clearly stated when someone signs up.

I don't know you Goofy, but I respect your views and opinions and as a frontline CM I understand the wealth of knowledge you bring ... I also understand how/why it can conflict with the official company line.

How long was the wait for the Turkey legs and did they run out? Should a food cart have fastpass?

Which is longer the wait for Space Mountain or the wait for the ladies restrooms?
