Oooooooooo and it's purdy

I've been basically going through consumer reports and picking the highest rated.

But the DVD player is a MUST. I want the best, PLUS DVD!!

Motor-Trend SUV of the year is pretty impressive.

As for DVD, have you considered:

Plus several of these:

At $60 each would give your kids the ability to watch whatever they want . . . in the car or out (and you could probably get away with making those Christmas gifts giving you one less thing to buy and making them . . . essentially . . . free.:lookaroun

Today I saw a police vehicle on the road that terrified me.

A PR State Police Highway Patrol Suzuki GSX1300R motorcycle. The police now have Hayabusas here.

The Challenger SRT8 has just been announced at $38K, sot that matches the pricing of the Charger.

That means the 5.7 liter with MDS (multi-displacement system) should be in the low 30's, and I hear it should have a 6 speed manual.

I don't know if I want something that heavy, but I like the fact that the MDS should offer a good combination of power without obscenely low gas mileage, and there's just something about the muscle-car styling that reminds me of the models I used to build when I was 10.

I may have to think about it.

Meh... I dunno how I feel about this car. A) not a fan of dodge products to begin with... except their older stuff (69' Charger)... B) I'll bet she is a big ol' gas pig... without even going to look up MPG stats. C) nothing about the front end looks right to me... I dunno I just cant put my finger on it.

It just doesnt "wow" me, or make me even wanna go test drive it. Is it because that maybe its geared towards the aging boomers?:shrug:

Ditto here too. Granted, I like the retro feel...but this isn't retro...it's almost an exact replica

I think I missed this boat...because I'm sure there are plenty of "muscle-car" buffs that will drool over it...I'm not one of them. (The Camaro on the other hand...)

B) I'll bet she is a big ol' gas pig...

That and the weight are my two biggest concerns. That's also why I crossed the Z4M off my list (it gets the gas guzzler tax).

I'm not too concerned with the price of gas, but I don't like the idea of something that is so wasteful . . . particularly now, and particularly when there are cool alternatives that can combine fun and decent mileage.

. . . but that's also what interests me about the 5.7 liter Hemi. The 5.7 liter version offers cylinder cut-off, and in the Charger (which is roughly the same size and weight, it gets 17/25 mpg . . . which doesn't seem too bad to me.

I've really been a fan of they cylinder cut-off systems from both GM and Dodge, and I think they deserve at least as much attention as Hybrids (I think the big new GM Hybrid SUV's owe as much to those systems for their improved mileage as they do the hybrid systems).

But the weight is still a big factor, and I can't imagine myself buying a 4000 lb car.

My Avalanche (with the cut off system) gets 21mpg if I do all highway driving. It still gets about 17-18 around the city or in traffic (which actually isn't all THAT bad considering the size of it). Heck, my Wrangler was only getting 15! I am amazed at how smooth the transition from 4-8 cylinders is. You can't even feel a thing. The Tahoe Hybrid gets 21/22. So, I agree Gary...the cut-off system has a LOT to do with the gas mileage. This is one truck I could see myself definitely buying again.

Ever do that? Ever buy a vehicle...and then ask yourself that question after you've owned it for a few years? The Z and this truck are the only vehicles I have been able to say that about. I said that about my Silverado too...but after driving the Avalanche, I'd buy an avalanche over a silverado.

I'd definitely buy another Z4 (though probably the coupe version . . . or maybe the next generation, probably not the same exact version).

And the Cobalt is very good for what it is (simple, basic transportation). If Ryan ends up taking this Cobalt and (after I get something cool) I still want a second car for driving in the snow etc., I'd look at another Cobalt.

. . . as for the 3 series . . . NEVER again.

And my Celica taught me not to get a front wheel drive "sports car".

I think the reason is simply that the system only gets the cars back up to where they SHOULD be to start with :) No one is going to hug a tree over 24mpg :)
