Thanks!!:sohappy:

I think the Imperial and Intercepter are good examples of exactly what a car should NOT look like.

I think they should show those to designers and say: "See this? Design something that looks exactly opposite to this."

Hehe, there's a market for them. Not exactly a car I would buy..but I do like the styling for what it is.

What did you think of the KUE?

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.
Here we go...on to the cars.

First up...the Saab Aero X. I love it...LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. This one truly WAS inspired by jets!

And...guess who showed up to save Boston?!?!?! BUMBLEBEE! :lookaroun

Is it me... or does the SAAB look like a rebadged Camero... with different front and rear fascias?

Alrighty...and to finish it off...

The Audi R8. I still don't like it. Bleh...the lines are horrible and nothing meshes together well. Nice attempt Audi...but when I think Audi, I think perfect lines and the shapes are simplistic. This just doesn't work for me.

And, last but not least...

The Nissan GT-R. This car is great...but that's all...because without ME...it's just AWESO. Hehe, nah, this was my favorite at the show. (BTW...it had the best "cargirls" too ;) ) Infiniti's were way up there on the hot factor too

Yes, this was the Japanese version (notice the steering wheel).

I kinda like the Audi. Of course I had two weeks to ogle it when it was in my office lobby... but I dont think its worth the price they want for it either.

The Nissan GT-R is growing on me.

Thanks for the pics, Brian.

Oh no...I thought the exact same thing!

I thought the rear looked more like the Vette though...with that teardrop window.

I've always liked the classic long-hood with driver sitting back near the rear-axle look. It seems like MFGR's are afraid to offer sport only cars without back seats, so except for the Z4 coupe and a few others, that look seems to be dying out.

I'm assuming the Saab doesn't have any back seat . . . does it? Is there any chance they'd produce a variation of that, or do you think it's purely for show?

I couldn't tell if it was a 2+2 or not. I would assume not. As far as production goes...I would bet highly against it unless the R8 sells well. If the R8 opens a new market...then I could see GM going forward with it. Right now...I don't think people want to spend 200K on an Audi or a Saab...when they hear that price...they immediately flock to Ferrari, Lambo, Bentley, AM, etc.

The Vette is also a 2-seater...but what a huge trunk! (For a car in that class)

EDIT: I also read somewhere that VW is thinking of making a rear-engine vehicle but I don't know what type of car/suv/van it is. I would assume it's a new Bug...(it makes sense) or a Microbus...but who knows.

This exact car (the blue one) was at the show also but I didn't get any pics of it. It had two HUGE NOS tanks under the hatch and the entire interior was made of blue and yellow suede.

I don't like the color scheme on it...but the car itself is kinda cool. This is a car you either love or hate...I love the styling...it reminds me of an M Coupe (the basic shape). Long nose...coupe back with wide tires.

I was wondering if they could do it on the Solstice platform. That could give them a coupe they could sell to a more exotic market than the solstice. Price it in the 30-40K range (obviously it would probably be toned down from the show car, but I could see a market for something like that).

The old Sting-Ray vette was one that I had in mind from my youth (along with Datsun 240Z, Opel GT, Jaguar E-type etc.

. . . but yeah, the newer vettes seem to have extended the trunk and shortened the hood so that they don't have the same look as those ones from the '70s.

I also heard about the rear-drive VW (but don't know any more than you). I was very disappointed that they didn't go with rear-drive on the new Bug, but I guess they had to use the platform available. Now that they've got a market established for the newer bugs, maybe they can make the case for a new platform.

I'd buy a volvo 'sports car' right after I bought a daewoo one!

Bumping the HP doesn't make cars sporty!

Cars like the Challenger will further make America the laughing stock of the car world.

Oversized... huge... obnoxious.. and not even that good! Did Detroit NOT learn from the 70s when they got their handed to them?

That Volvo looks pretty damn sporty to me! It doesn't look that different from the VW GTi.

I definitely agree with the Challenger...while I like the looks, I could never see myself buying one because, while it looks big, bad, and powerful...it probably can't handle worth a dime.

BTW...please tell me what constitutes a car being called a "sports car."

What? Should they just step aside and allow BMW and Mercedes to have all of the oversized, huge, obnoxious market.

Ideally, it would be nice if Dodge (or just about anyone for that matter) had a small, rear-wheel drive platform on which to build, but Dodge has the Charger/300 platform, and the Challenger is, at the very least, a better use of that platform than the cars they are currently making.

Whatever happened to that little Dodge Razor?
