DMC-12

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.
Well theres no accounting for some peoples lack of taste. Im very happy with mine, certainly better looking than the 3 series which looks like a box from the back. The new 1 Series coupe Im not sure about, however it may be Sports tourer for me next.

Ooo post pics :sohappy: I just wanna see.

I'm glad you've come to terms with your own lack of taste... think about that next time you call someone's opinion lacking.

At least the 3 series is in more proportion. The 1 series looks like they took the door panel off the 3.. and the front quarter and just shortened it. The bangle 'fold' is just wayyy too big on that little car.

No way I'd spend 35k+ on a M version of that.

Personally, I find the 1 series to be an attractive car, and I see them with regularity in neighboring islands.

No taste or sense of humour what do you do for fun, club seals?

Where is Club Seals? Sounds like a happenin' place!

Here is a sense of humor with no taste...

I went to a wedding this weekend and two antenna got married...
The ceremony was horrible but the reception was fantastic! :lookaroun

I personally prefer the 1 series over the 3 series. Not over the 3 Series coupe though. I hate the back end of the 3 series...ick...

Now that the details are out on the 1, it just seems a little too heavy, a little too pricey and a little too boxy.

It's better than a lot of cars out there, but at the price they set, there are plenty of other options.

The 135i comes with "leatherette". Nobody should ever pay $35,000 for a car and get leatherette.

By the time you put a couple options on it, you're at $40,000, and I can probably think of 6 or 7 cars I'd rather have for $40,000 than the 135i - including the Z4 coupe.

For under $35,000, you can get all-wheel drive, 4 doors, space to fold down the rear seat and carry a big-screen TV, and I'll bet it will beat the 135i on just about any track:

Standard amenities include an automatic climate control system with cabin air filtration; a standard AM/FM premium stereo with 6-disc in-dash CD changer and 10 speakers, plus a vehicle security system with engine immobilizer. The Radio Broadcast Data System can display a variety of information, including a song’s title and artist. For the first time, the WRX STI is available with an optional navigation system, which integrates a vehicle information center. In addition to an input for MP3 players, the center console also includes video jacks that can accommodate portable gaming devices. The WRX STI comes pre-wired for XM® or SIRIUS® Satellite Radio.

Don't go gettin' all jealous on me, but I think we may be getting one of those new Town and Country's... with the swiveling seats. :lookaroun

Because my kids are DYING for the swiveling seats, because you KNOW they spend hours upon hours around a table playing board games and cards and conversing genially with each other :)

:lookaroun

(But really, we ARE looking... 7 years and 175,000 miles are taking their toll on the minivan :ROFLOL:

Oooh, swiveling seats.

You're not the only one making automotive sacrifices for your children. At the moment, I'm driving a Chevy Cobalt with an automatic transmission so I have something for Ryan to drive.

. . . of course that frees me up once I turn it over to him.:drevil:

Yes, I remember when you got it. :(

I've said an extra prayer for you at church every week since :( :(

It's not working.:(

Oh, won't you feel silly the day it floats down on a cloud with a chorus of angels singing behind it.

:p

In other news... new cars are expensive :lookaroun I realize you all probably know this already, but I've never had the luxury of a new vehicle before. :( Nearly $40K for a new minivan with the stuff I want!! :hammer: If I am going to pay that much money for a car, it is NOT going to be a freaking minivan

Exactly.. it really has no identity or stand-out in the space. It hasn't defined a new market niche nor blown out any of the competition in the existing spaces.

Welcome to BMW :)

The M varient of the Z4 would lure me in for a weekend car... nice looks from a few angles and finally some grunt to go with it. And given the little benz went ape-&%$ with the over done SLR grille and the reliability of MB.. ashame the Z4 hasn't taken off more.

My current Z is aging a bit.. but nothing is really luring me in. Will probably hold off for 2-3 more years until some 'must have' comes along.

Well value is certainly not in the BMW vocabulary :) The suuubs are grunty, but they still totally fall when it comes to matching the style or inclusive luxury of a BMW. But that car would rock for living up north and for someone who can't afford to keep a winter vs summer car.

They can be. The Toyota for instance with the AWD was well over 36k and that was a few years ago. I think mine was 32k or so and that was back in 2003.
