imagine how hard my jaw hit the ground when I saw my neighbors new car on my morning jog today

If I had $110,000 to spend on a car, I think it would be a tough decision between that and a GT3.

Fortunately, I don't think I'll have to deal with that difficulty soon.:lookaroun

The 135i seems to be getting rave reviews, but I'm actually getting a little skeptical. At over 3400 lbs, it really isn't dramatically lighter than a G37, IS350 or even BMW's own 335i, and if the base price comes in at around $35,000 as many are suggesting, it doesn't really set itself apart from some of the cars that would seem to be in the next tier.

If they had been able to keep the weight just above 3000 lb, it might be unique enough to set itself apart from the larger competition enough to justify the price . . . or if they can keep the price down, it may offer comparable performance at a more attractive price.

So price is the big question mark right now. If it turns out to be in the $35,000 range, it's still interesting, but beginning to price itself at a point that really doesn't differentiate it from some other 3500ish lb. rear drive cars.

I agree...it should be priced in the 25-30K range...with the 135 being priced around 32-34.

I hope that you're having a great time! If you see my Mom and Dad...say hi for me

That has to be one of the worst articles I've read in ages. Tons of whimy, flimsy descriptions with no real facts or numbers behind all their 'write up'

'feels fast'
"enough to hurl it to highway speeds in a couple of blinks of an eye" - ??
"
Because of its compact size and huge power" - a size never defined nor compared...
etc etc etc

feels like a happy 16yr old wrote the damn thing :(

I'm thinking about american muscle...

...namely aussie american muscle.

There's a writeup about the upcoming Pontiac G8 in the local newspaper, and it's quite impressive, especially a Corvette V8/gearbox for under $30k.

I'd say that's great pricing for the performance. It'll be interesting to see if, at that price they can pull buyers away from the new M3 which should be in the 60-70 range.

For that price...if I had the 70G laying around...there is no other car on the market that I'd buy.

Hmmm, for $70,000, I think it would be between the GT-R, Z06, M3 and Cayman.

I'd probably go with the Cayman, because I prefer the light weight and balance of the Cayman to the brute force of the other three.

. . . but I'd love to be in that position.
