Oh drat I just had most of the old jokes down so I could over react to them nicely (& I don't even work there) :lookaroun Should be interesting to hear the new changes I hope its better than other recent changes at MK :lookaroun

I honestly doubt it'll change too much.

My mom hated the old script so boooooorinnnnnnnng. yawn :snore::snore::snore::snore::snore::snore::snore::snore: needs to be funny.

I don't think the script is the problem.

Too many MK guests are tired dead-heads that are waiting to get to the next ride to even give a damn what the skippers are saying. And (no one here, of course) many MK skippers don't seem to match up with their Anaheim counterparts to begin with. I don't know how much that is the skippers themselves, and how much is them not having the energy when they've sat through boatloads of guests staring blindly no matter how good a show they give.

Ohhhh...I gotta disagree with you here.

Anaheim skippers aren't great from what I've seen.

The only thing that really drags WDW's down is the use of ICPs who don't speak English well. Now, a lot of them are my friends, but the fact is no one who doesn't speak perfect English should be a skipper.

Out of my 5 JC rides(4 wdw, 1 DL) only on one did the guests respond to the skipper(and he was not the best skipper) of course that ended up being my favorite cruise. After the Disneyland cruise last week my 9 year old asked why we were the only ones playing along?

But it does more than drag it down, it absolutely kills the Jungle Cruise for me. Their delivery just seems so unnatural and forced. One day, I will get you or Rightguard and all will be well.

Just got an email confirmation that Tim Delaney as well as top sculptor Val Edwards (she did Obama for HoP) were indeed laid off. They didn't leave of their own free will.

Apparently, much like the recent moves with Rich Ross taking over for D-I-C-K Cook and George Kalogridis taking over for Ed Grier, The Weatherman is trying to rid Disney of anyone who dares think for themselves. All yes men (and women) all the time.

Still, trying to track down more info, but apparently Valerie let it be known she had concerns over quality control issues involving sculpting and AAs and was invited to go spend more time with her family.

Not sure on Tim Delaney yet.

It's just an opinion, but I am sure I've taken many more cruises in Anaheim over the years. Very rarely have I gotten a total dud. Had a great one a few weeks ago. And the boat was rocking even at 11 p.m.

Without this getting political, I have an issue with anyone in a guest services position who doesn't have perfect English.

I was in Miami today (went to see the Disney Christmas Carol Train Tour -- and waited longer to get in than I did for any E-Ticket at DLP/DSP/DL/DCA last month BY FAR!) and stopped into the new prototype Burger King that is in the shadow of the company's worldwide HQ building and no one at the order counter could even speak English ... didn't even understand numbers. But I digressed ... you are right, you need perfect command of English to be a USA JC skipper. No ands, ifs or IPers come cheap!

Not Tony.

Yeah. Tony is as the top of the list because of his age, stature and ... how do I put this gently? ... Um ... inability to take BS from anyone, including superiors.

I'd expect him to annouce his 'retirement' near/on DL's 55th B-Day and his window on Main Street to come a month or two later.

Seriously.

SirGoofy, I'm sure you are awesome, but I've only had a good skipper at WDW once or twice. Last time was really disappointing... and it was at night, supposedly the best time to ride. At DL, I usually get really great skippers. It also goes to show that I go to DL six or more times as much as I go to the Magic Kingdom, so the freshness of their JC should be more entertaining, but I seem to have better luck at Disneyland.

I can confirm Tim Delaney was let go. Very very sad.

Never knew about Valerie Edwards, but I just googled her. She is obviously a great talent. Why would they let her go?!

Ugh...That's really a shame. Laid off, though? Wow. Why not at least let him do the "Spending Time With Family" act?

Well, gee, there's your problem, Spirit. :lookaroun

I agree with you in full. This is the only country in the world, I think that allows this to go on. I'm not saying why, or how, or if it's wrong or right, because that would REALLY be getting into politics, but if you are in the country, please learn the language. Every other country in the world does that to their immigrants.

My best JC ride ever including my several rides at DL is a ride I had a WDW. Sadly I've only seen that skipper there that one time and this was several years ago. He had the best jokes and had everyone, kids and adults laughing.

I'm going to be really interested in this new script, right before my WDW trip on Nov 20. :D
