Sorry, but what was Tim's original concept for Paradise Pier? Is there any concept art of it? I'm not aware of any. I have three long posts on my blog of DCA concept art, but I have never seen his- as far as I know.

I am not sure whether to be sad (TL94' DLP Space Mountain) or happy (Sunshine Plaza' Original Paradise Pier.).

Because if you don't have a script, that means each skipper gets to say whatever he/she wants, at any time.

While there have been a handful of past and current skippers who love their job and would live up to the Disney standards and create their own family-friendly magic....Disney can't trust them all to do so. Thus, everyone is punished, er, I mean, help to a script.

Yes and no. We are allowed to go off script as long as it is appropriate.

Me too! I was just saying over in the World of Color thread that California Screamin' is pretty much the best coaster ever...

Paradise Pier is getting awesome-er not FINALLY awesome from my standpoint.

Should I guess that you haven't ridden very many coasters, Servo? :lookaroun

I'm sorry, it may not be an "extreme" coaster, but Screamin' has a great layout, ride time, music, and has an AMAZING location.

When you get up there and can see the mountains, and even Disneyland and the Matterhorn below...priceless.
:sohappy:

California Screamin' is a good coaster. One of the top lightly themed coasters, but I'd definitely put X2 ahead of it. As for the layout, it's very good - but the loop is out of place. It's right before a break area, and the loop doesn't flow naturally with the ride.

As for the Jungle Cruise script - I experienced the new script for Disneyland back in May. We went on it 3 times and although some skippers were better than others the overall quality improved. In Disney World it seems there is a large range in the quality of the skippers.

Some time after the accident in 2005 the breaks prior to the loop were turned on and have been that way ever since. :brick: it ruins the feeling of going into the loop a bit.

Also swinging this back to Jungle Cruise a bit, the DL one has a 4 day refurbishment coming up soon Nov. 16- 19.

Look for the same ride but with no water, all audio removed, and the 1994 logo to be plastered everywhere in lime green.

Well....his original concept for Paradise Pier were gorgeous.
(Actually, I always loved the Pier....)
I've just seen pics, and it's looked nice. Never thought DCA looked bad.:lol:

Is anyone reminded of "Peter Pan" when he says this? Either this is alluding to RIFD or I'm just getting WAY too excited by this... maybe a full JC refurb?
Waaayyy over thinking it. :o
