SO glad to finally hear that they are doing something new with this ride. It was the worst ride on the property (JK trying to get a rise out of SirGoofy). Anywho, I can't wait to see the JC with the changes. Thanks for the progress reports.

I also have a couple of Jungle Cruise questions.

-Does anyone have a copy of an older script, where things were more serious? Would be interesting to travel back in time and hear the original script of something like it.

-When did the skippers stop shooting the gun at the hippos?

(A few years ago I had a skipper point the gun at the hippo, then explain
that the hippos were afraid of the string that held it to the boat. I thought that was hilarious, but haven't had anyone say that since)

-I went on JC three times a few weeks ago, three different skippers, and everyone was pretty much silent through the temple. Why?

(Again, the skipper from many years back was silent . . . then as we got some ways into the temple, started to hum "It's a Small World", that was awesome. No such luck this time)

It's all because of increased rules for skippers, and every skipper is different.

I haven't forgotten about it. Just haven't gotten the script yet. I'm working on it.:wave:

1)Nope, sorry. But I know you can find youtube videos from when Disneyland opened, which has the original script.

2)I don't know when it happened. But it's dumb. Gotta love PC'ness!

D-Magic Radio (Live 365) plays it during every one of their "Strolling through the Magic Kingdom" shows, which is at least once a week.

At least I think it's the original. The narrator is the same guy who did the old Haunted Mansion Story recording.

That's about as close as you're gonna get, I'd say. I've got this CD, and for some reason it doesn't get much play... I just can't get excited about it. But it's basically an audio walk-thru of Disneyland recorded in the VERY early days of the park.

On the Amazon website, you can actually listen to snippets of tracks, and the JC one is on there. But you only hear the portion where he approaches the launching dock.

So, where exactly does the assumption come from that it's WDI doing all this work and not Engineering Services, doing their standard updates as they constantly do?
