I can see how people could have read that and hoped for a big announcement today. Clearly the marketing firm they are working with and the Disney fans have different ideas about what is exciting and special.
Well it is marketing and in marking "truth" is a subjective term. Had they told the absolute truth the copy would have read...

"It’s time – we’re ready to raise the curtain on some plans at Disney Parks and it’s something you’ll more than likely not really care about. Our live stream of the announcement begins right here on the Disney Parks Blog today at 12:45 p.m. Nothing we talk about will really blow your mind but there will be a few cute pictures and Michael J Fox will make an experience. If you aren't doing anything special at the time you can watch it here but don't cancel any plans to do so."

Not exactly the best way to drum up excitement and get people to watch.

Well at least the travel agents and press people got their lunch on Disney's dime today. I hope that was more palatable than Bergeron's jokes.

Really? Where did you get that idea? The blog didn't have anything about a "major announcement". They had a story about a special announcement and exciting plans. Anything more was your own mistaken assumption.

Again, who said it would be a "major" announcement. Please show me where that was listed on the blog. Plus, if you didn't think there would be a major announcement, whey would you be upset?

Now, was the event satisfactory? It was exactly what I figured. Well, except for the lame/off-color jokes and poor performance by Bergeron. Have a feeling that's the last one he'll do.

Thank the stars for your long-awaited return, Wannab@dis! :sohappy:

you know I just realized, I'm surprised there was nothing in the press release about Duffy coming to Epcot, I mean he is so popular and everyone can't wait to see him:rolleyes:

To the tune of $25,000 to install him I hope there will be a constant line. :brick:

This idea sucks. Main Street is so pretty at night with the castle all lit up. Now it's gonna look like crap with a bunch of photos plastered all over it. Who thinks this stuff up?

I'm so tired of these stupid pointless "celebrations." Even the average ignorant tourist can tell they're just pointless promotions to get a quick buck. Can't we have a celebrationless year for once?
