do you breathe in exhaust from vehicles? from factory smoke stacks?

smokers simply make an easier target.

Ocasionally, yes it does happen, but I have never seen a car or a factory walk around a theme park complaining that all the non-smokers want to breath fresh air bumping into me with smoke stacks and exhaust pipes. I mean, it may just be in my area, but it has not happened.

Nah...Disney long ago created designated driving areas to keep the exhaust out of my lungs, and I'll have you know, you have never been able to drive in any of the Resort Hotels' rooms.

First of all, there is plenty of air available on WDW property that is free of cigarette smoke.

Secondly, it must be just in your area. Smog and ozone are prevalant in every metropolitan area. You must be lucky to live where there is no car exhaust, ozone depletion, smog, factories, buses, or trains.

disneychix made the comment about being within 50 feet of a cigarette killing her.

so youve never been within 50 feet of a car or bus while at wdw?

what do you do, bicycle thru the woods to get to the parks?

i guess that she would also think walt disney pathetic and meaningless as he too was a smoker.

He was certainly no saint, but in his time the horrible things we know about cigs were not known then. So I guess I can cut him a little slack.

and for what its worth, the no smoking in rooms doesnt really bother me. i dont smoke in my apartment. when i wish to smoke, i go outside. even as a smoker, coming home to the whole place reaking of stale smoke is bother some. my neighbor smokes cigars in his place and the smoke leaches thru the walls. that bothers me.

my beef would only be how the handle the designated areas at the resorts.

im sure he'd be grateful to know that.

Look, why don't we leave this little debate at this: smoking kills. It will kill you if you smoke. It will kill me if you smoke near me. It's a choice, not a necessity. It is not allowed in hotel rooms on Disney property and smoking rooms make up a small enough percentage of their accomodations that they can do without accomodating them. No amount of crying or complaining will help the situation. Facts are facts.

Judgemental much?

Yes. I am, just tad. But, I am intitled to my own opinions.

Same here. We don't smoke in our apartment or our cars. I hate the smell of stale smoke. We didn't even smoke in our room at WDW when we had smoking rooms - I hate the way smoke hangs around in a closed room.

The WDW Resorts going non-smoking really doesn't bother me, since I live seven miles from Animal Kingdom. I don't stay on property anymore.

True. Too bad you have an inconsiderate way of introducing your opinions. They might have been better recieved if you had laid them out without the judgement and the name-calling.

i am well aware of the facts.

and it IS allowed in the room until june 1.

i am going to be at wdw in a few weeks, before the ban. in your honor, whenever i am in the room, whether i smoke it or not, i will keep a cigarette lit. i will smoke out that room to the point that the will have to scrap the tar off the walls with a knife.

actually, i wont do that. but id love to see your reaction reading to this point.

Maybe, but then it wouldn't be my full opinion, now would it?

How lovely that your opinion of me is that my life is pointless and meaningless, even though you have never met me. That's a wonderful way to go through life. And, even though you are entitled to your opinion, it's never nice to be rude and mean-spirited to other people. I'm more concerned about why you feel the need to be so mean to others than I am about your actual opinion.

it was a joke...geez you all need to calm the heck down and take a few deep breaths...this is a Disney World website. It's supposed to be happy. Why be so defensive with people you've never met?
