I don't know how dependent we are on tourism from Canada, but my guess is not a lot. I would imagine many of the snowbirds from Canada will still come. If your retired and are planning on spending 5 months in the states the 2 week quarantine is nothing.
I don’t have the exact numbers, but I read somewhere that WDW typically has about 20% of their business from international guests. #1 Canada, #2 U.K., #3 Brazil. It’s definitely a piece of the puzzle for them. I agree that most snow birds if they don‘t go to FL this winter it won’t be because of a travel quarantine.

WDW relies quite a bit on Canadians. It has nothing to do with the 2 week quarantine. It has to with your zombie apocalypse. 🙄.

I think it’s a fair change if it accomplishes the same end goal. Not sure why it’s an issue, but I guess if the echo chamber says the sky is green, it’s green. I don’t live in NY so I could care less about Cuomo as a politician. It’s funny to see people so triggered over the governor of a state they don’t live in and have no interest in visiting.
Cuomo part of the discussion because you kept bringing up his travel restrictions that the rest of the Tri state follow being a large driver of the demand at Disney.

It is/was just theater in New York and tri state area, their cases are now rising as everyone else, same with Pennsylvania even with the travel restrictions and more strict mask rules etc. For example Pennsylvania's new case rate per capita is the same as Florida and Florida is pretty much wide open for months unlike PA. MA, CT case rate even higher than Florida.

Did someone really just say that the US is not dependent on tourism from Canada?

A simple Google search found this...

In 2019, there were approximately 20.72 million overseas visitors from Canada to the United States. The visitation figures from Canada peaked in 2013 when the U.S. received a total of 23.41 Canadian citizens across its borders. In 2019, Canada placed first in terms of the most visitors from one nation to the United States, followed closely by fellow U.S. neighbor, Mexico.

I don't think too many Americans care that they can't travel to Canada.
It has nothing to with Americans coming here. Its more to do with Canadian tourists spending money in the US. You don't have to worry about that any time soon. Most Canadians have no interest in visiting your "zombie apocalypse"

With the conversion rate I don't know why Canadians would want to come here anyway.

There is no way to quantify how many cases were avoided this summer in PA or NY or NJ due to travel restrictions. I can tell you it’s not zero and probably a substantial number. It’s just stupid logic to point to a safety protocol and say because there are any cases now or rising cases that’s proof that the protocol doesn’t work. Nobody said NY having a safety protocol would result in no cases. It’s a small part of the bigger picture.

As I said before any place with substantial community spread should limit or restrict out of state travel in/out. The fact that NY pivoted to a plan where all travel is restricted makes perfect sense. You keep trying to make this an us vs them or that this is punitive but that’s not the way it works, but I know that’s falling on deaf ears when people are dug in on what they see as political issues.

As it is stupid logic to say how many they avoided, works both ways. The goal was to keep it under control in the tristate area and not to have rising cases like other areas that don't have travel restrictions, well that did not happen.

I personally don't care either way, same with politics don't care, just highlighting the irony that NY is now in the same situation as Florida. Cuomo made it us vs. them and you have somewhat also claiming that states should have a travel restrictions, even though it is appearing to not have any effect.
