Weren't we talking about Canada? Or did you miss that.
Its simple Geography. Canada is international.

I get that, but I was specifically referring to Canada not all international travel. Its simple Geography. Canada is international.
It has nothing to with Americans coming here. Its more to do with Canadian tourists spending money in the US. You don't have to worry about that any time soon. Most Canadians have no interest in visiting your "zombie apocalypse"I don't think too many Americans care that they can't travel to Canada.
I don't know how dependent we are on tourism from Canada, but my guess is not a lot.

With the conversion rate I don't know why Canadians would want to come here anyway. It has nothing to with Americans coming here. Its more to do with Canadian tourists spending money in the US. Canada sends tourist out of Europe, South America, Asia, and Africa?Thats not what was being discussed.
But you are aware that Canada sends the most tourists to the US out of every international country, right?
You misinterpreted what I said (probably on purpose).Canada sends tourist out of Europe, South America, Asia, and Africa?
There is no way to quantify how many cases were avoided this summer in PA or NY or NJ due to travel restrictions. I can tell you it’s not zero and probably a substantial number. It’s just stupid logic to point to a safety protocol and say because there are any cases now or rising cases that’s proof that the protocol doesn’t work. Nobody said NY having a safety protocol would result in no cases. It’s a small part of the bigger picture.Cuomo part of the discussion because you kept bringing up his travel restrictions that the rest of the Tri state follow being a large driver of the demand at Disney.
It is/was just theater in New York and tri state area, their cases are now rising as everyone else, same with Pennsylvania even with the travel restrictions and more strict mask rules etc. For example Pennsylvania's new case rate per capita is the same as Florida and Florida is pretty much wide open for months unlike PA. MA, CT case rate even higher than Florida.
As it is stupid logic to say how many they avoided, works both ways. The goal was to keep it under control in the tristate area and not to have rising cases like other areas that don't have travel restrictions, well that did not happen. There is no way to quantify how many cases were avoided this summer in PA or NY or NJ due to travel restrictions. As I said before any place with substantial community spread should limit or restrict out of state travel in/out. The fact that NY pivoted to a plan where all travel is restricted makes perfect sense. You keep trying to make this an us vs them or that this is punitive but that’s not the way it works, but I know that’s falling on deaf ears when people are dug in on what they see as political issues.
The travel restrictions were done to reduce cases. We both agree travel leads to spread of the virus, therefore reducing travel reduces cases. It’s not stupid logic, it’s simple common sense. You are saying that if cases are rising anyway then it is proof the restrictions did nothing but you are completely missing the point. I don‘t know how to say it any other way so that’s the last I’ll say on it.As it is stupid logic to say how many they avoided, works both ways. I personally don't care either way, same with politics don't care, just highlighting the irony that NY is now in the same situation as Florida. Cuomo made it us vs. them and you have somewhat also claiming that states should have a travel restrictions, even though it is appearing to not have any effect.
Florida has no travel restrictions and their cases have remained low for months and rising currently like NY etc. , by your logic they should be sky high since travel causes cases. Also note Florida is home to one of the largest tourists destinations in the country and has been attracting tourists from all over the country for months. The travel restrictions were done to reduce cases. CUOMO DID NOT MAKE IT US VS. THEM. Do some research and look at what the national landscape looked like when NYC was initially hit. Just look. And stop with these untruths and fake news (if it's in your makeup to do so). Governor Cuomo was wading into an already toxic environment driven by the President and republican governors throughout the country. As it is stupid logic to say how many they avoided, works both ways. Of course it had nothing to do with the travel quarantine Desantis put on NY/NJ.CUOMO DID NOT MAKE IT US VS. THEM. A lot (most) of the snowbirds from Quebec and Ontario are still back in Florida, FWIW, as normal. Still down around 20% from last year, though.
For those that don’t follow the other thread Universal has extended their resort outage of 4 resorts through the rest of 2020. They are now down to just 3 resorts open (Hard Rock, Cabana Bay and Royal Pacific) and less than half of their available rooms. Not a great sign for people hoping for a quicker recovery in the fall. At least Universal doesn’t appear to be confident that an increase in demand is coming this yearTough times ahead for the workers involved.
The worldwide pandemic is over today (goal achieved) so it makes sense that everything just reopens as usual. Life goes back to normal. We can stop faking deaths and over-reacting to a harmless virus. These threads can all be shut down.Demand may be picking back up - Loews Portofino Bay Hotel and Endless Summer Resort are opening up 12/1 and 12/15 respectively adding roughly 2800 rooms to their inventory.
