I got from this you have to "book a package to get the offer", and it can only be used for merchandise items...... I don't think that "tickets" are considered merchandise. It also says that you can't use this for "recreational activites" as well. Bummer.

Well heck.. I've got a question now since I read all those "can'ts".

For the Disney gift card (the one purchased from a Disney Store) that can be used anywhere on Disney property.. do they have the same type of exclusions? Anywhere not Disney owned like Basin, Epcot shops, etc?

We got the pin number and just purchased one of these cards. I asked her a million questions and she was very helpful like some of the people have stated above its only good on merchandise and it does include the photos. I also asked her about an expiration date and she told me that its treated like cash and has no expiration date. So we purchased one of them knowing that we can use it year after year until it is used up. Without the expiration date I think its a great deal.

This offer is different than a regular Disney Gift Card - this is a Merchandise MYW Shopping Card, only for use on merchandise purchases. A Disney Gift Card does not have as many limitations, and can used at WDW, DLR, Disney Stores, DisneyStore.com, Photopass.com, DCL and DVC. You can use a Disney Gift Card at most places on Disney property, including recreation and dining.

The card referenced in this post is something completely different, which is why it has so many limitations. Just to help clarify!

I heard about this a few weeks ago and just read thru this thread. Someone raised the question, "Can this card be used to buy tickets?" No, it doesn't say anywhere that tickets are excluded. However, the fine print says repeatedly that the card can only be used at merchandise locations. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe tickets/passes can only be purchased at ticket windows or park Guest Relations locations. The limitation of location for the card's use would in itself exclude tickets/passes. Correct?

How soon before your trips have those of you that have gotten this offer been contacted? I'm holding out hope I'll get an offer for my February trip, but expect it won't be until shortly before departure.
