Wall-E movie is amazing

I loved it! I did feel guilty, though, about all the garbage that I was throwing away at the end of the movie. It's hard to watch a movie about the evils of consumerism while you are munching away on the giant popcorn free refill.

But other than that brief pang of guilt, I thought the story, characters and animation were beautiful.

We saw Wall-E this morning and loved it, we saw a digital presentation. The first few scenes showing the stars just blew us away.

I have read some reviews online about how it was a horrible movie because it was mostly silent. I think that is what made it great for us. You actually had to pay attention to the characters to get a sense of the emotion of the film, so much depended on actions instead of words.

I have no words to do justice to the greatness of this motion picture. You absolutely MUST go see it.

When I read the media reviews calling it "hands down the best film of the year to date" and "the greatest animated motion picture ever produced in America," I was a bit sceptical. Not anymore.

One anecdote: In a theater filled with many small children, you could hear a pin drop during the emotionally climactic scene at the end.

Ok I'm really really beginning to think I didnt see the same Wall e movie everyone else did...

on a side note I saw an advertisement for Wall e today on tv and couldn't believed when I heard the anouncer say that Wall-e was a robot out to save planet Earth. All I saw was a robot tired of being lonely trying to save his girlfriend.....

Wall-e was simply stunning! I was very impressed with the message and the beauty in this film. My kids liked it too, but probably for different reasons than I did.

There are no words to surmise how amazing Wall-E is. Without a doubt the finest film this year. The other day I actually watched EVERY Pixar film in the order they were released to get ready for Wall-E today, and you know...Pixar is the only studio that has made me get all tear-ey eyed in EVERY FILM!!

Pixar's works are the greatest contributions to American animation since the days of Walt Disney.

I saw it today at noon and LOVED IT! I believe that this is my new favorite PIXAR film and it was a really good scifi film too. It sort of reminded me of the anti-utopian scifi films that were made in the 70's although not quite as depressing. It did show a pretty beak future and made some strong statements about our society and where it could be heading.

On the other hand it still had some pretty good laughs and great characters. The Presto short of the film was great too. I also liked the Bolt preview, the hamster was really funny and I was suprised that John Travolta was the voice of Bolt.

Now Beverly Hills Chihuaua... what were they smoking when they came up with THAT movie?

I've posted already about how much I lovedWall-E. To add to that, I wanted to say how I appreciated the strong message they conveyed, and not because of the message itself, but because they took that risk. To be honest I feel most that complain the message is too much are looking for controversy. In the end it is just a movie, and in no way was the message forcefed to the audience. To me at least.

Moving on, you could hear a pin drop in my theater too at the end. And when things were finished (so as not to spoil) everyone sighed and laughed that nervous relieved laugh. Everyone was smiling as they left the theater too.

And can someone give me hint about the pizza planet truck?

Great...a Disney movie with an over-handed political message. I'll pass.

The message isn't the story. The story is really about robots in the future but there are much deeper levels to the film. I wouldn't say its a political message, its more of a social commentary. But you shouldn't let any of that keep you from seeing this film.

Ummm...you do know that's a Watchmen avatar you have there. Not exactly the least "message"-ey thing, if you ask me.

Anyways, yes. That's a sub-plot. Not the story.

Or wait...are you talking about Beverly Hills Chihuaua?

I agree that Wall-E is absolutely amazing. Saw it last night. I have friends who work for Pixar and I've been following the "behind-the-scenes" progress as the project has developed. Part of the strength of the movie is its incredibly strong political message about consumerism, ecology, even unhealthy eating and a lack of exercise. This mixed with beautiful imagery and fully realized robot characters truly puts the movie over-the-top and is unlike anything I've seen before in a kids film. I loved it. Kids film or not, it's the best movie I've seen in some time.

There was talk about Disney being concerned about sending a mixed message with this film during development with Pixar, especially considering the film is critical of mass merchandising and a giant corporation. I'm glad Disney decided to embrace the project whole-heartedly and continues to work on balancing the realities of their company with some sense of social responsibility.

Wall-E does send a strong message, but really- it's about time. We're in a mess of a situation and I only wish I was taught these sorts of lessons at a younger age.

And finally, the film reminded me a great deal of E.T. for some reason. I even felt like Wall-E looked like E.T. When E.T. came out, it was actually banned from being screened in certain parts of the world because it "taught children to fear government". I was OBSESSED with E.T. (like every other kid my age at the time it came out) and I think that kids appreciate these brave points-of-view. They may not be able to articulate it, but I think they definitely feel it, sense it, and absorb it.

Bravo Pixar! Bravo Disney!

We have a winner.

Not so much it's message is very much a take it or leave it deal, it doesn't jam it down your throat and yell about global warming and crap, it is almost like what The Land says, just take care of the Earth and don't screw it up. Not political at all. Really.

I guess you missed the plot line about getting the plant to the right place so that earth could be re-colonized.

I just returned from seeing it and I must say that before I went, I had thought the previews looked pretty stupid. But with all Disney/Pixar films, I give it a chance.

I actually really enjoyed it. Most of all I absolutely loved how they put in the songs and scenes from Hello Dolly! I thought it was really brilliant and how they give the characters such personalities when they really don't speak just amazes me.
