Wall-E movie is amazing

Where is Jim Hill with his talk of Disney demise and profit loss?

Actually, Jim set the bar for this film VERY low, a LONG time ago (when Ratatouille was in production). His take all along was that Pixar/Disney was expecting Wall-E to be the least grossing Pixar ever. The way this is looking, WALL-E has overachiever written all over it.

Regarding Kung Fu Panda, I would strongly encourage any Disney fan to check it out. Gone is all the stupid, gross, pop-culture referencing humor that Dreamworks is noted for. Present is a great story, a good amount of humor, and absolutely breathtaking animation. It gets my vote, hands down, as best Dreamworks animated ever.

I'm a little hesitant because I REALLY disliked Finding Nemo. Hopefully this is another great movie like most of their others.

@Expo_Seeker40: Thanks for the heads up. At first it was really cool when the end clips were a new thing but now it annoys me when I wait to see if there are any and there isn't.

I saw it this morning and it was excellent. In my opinion, it's better than Kung Fu Panda.

I don't think that it was as good as Toy Story or Cars though.

It is a little tear jerky here and there. But that's what to expect. There is a robot that tries to hunt him down throughout the movie. He's constantly cleaning the tracks left by Wall-E. In the end Wall-E askes his name and he replies "Walt."

There is a not-so-subliminal line in the movie that's definately not for children: When Wall-E gets in the ship for the first time he is dodging traffic. He cuts off another robot in an intersection and the robot stops and says "A$$hole!" (Yes, it's definately there!)

A friend of mine heard it too and we turned to each other and started laughing because people have found things like this in other Disney movies and I guess they are continuing the tradition.

It is definitely a tear jerker. I have only seen my husband cry maybe twice in the 6 years we have been together but even he was getting a little misty eyed at the end.

Actually, his name was "Mo" not walt.

Anyways, I loved the movie. I'm still trying to decide if its my favourite Pixar movie... but its pretty close ( Incredibles is my favourite ). But the visuals were really somthing else, and Wall-E easily goes down as the most lovable Pixar character ever! What's not to like about him? Plus it was really funny, action packed, and just down right cute.

Ben Burt easily will win best sound at the oscars, I just loved the voices for the robots! It was so neat sounding.

The only thing I didn't like was having the Buyn'Large CEO say "stay the course." Come on, was that really necessary?:brick:

Anyways, I still really enjoyed the movie. BTW, did anyone else catch the Pizza Planet truck?

It is definitely a tear jerker. I saw a ton of people crying in the theater once the movie ended. The music, the story, the ending.... a lot of it made people cry. One review said it was Disney's darkest animated film since Pinocchio. I never even thought Pinocchio was dark, but Wall-E most definitely is in some parts.

we just got back from seeing the new Wall-E movie and I just have to say it is great! It is now my favorite Disney movie. My DH and DS loved it too. I think it is Andrew Stanton that did this movie and he is a total genius! He really knows how to make lovable characters. We will definitely be going to see it again real soon.
I just wish there was more merchandise available.

The Disney Store has some really cool WALL-E merchandise!!!!!

I just saw it too and thought it was great! FYI there are no bonus scenes at the end of the credits, however the credits show the evolution of art which was very interesting.

While I like this movie and can't wait to meet Wall-E in person at Disney, I personally don't want a Wall-E 3D movie, Wall-E rollercoaster, Wall-E's wild ride, It's a Small Wall-E after all, or Mission: Wall-E related rides that may replace once again a few more original rides that Disney had come up with.

Yes but did you notice, that it actually,

[spoiler kinda]

documented the rebuilding of society, after the axiom returned.

Anyway Wall-E was easily the best movie, i've seen in a couple years. from a visual, audio, and storyline perspective, its the reason I'm getting into filmmaking.

My new order of Pixar films: best to worst
1- Wall-E
2- Ratatouille
3- Toy Story
4- The Indredibles
5- Finding Nemo
6- Monsters Inc.
7- Cars
8- Toy Story 2
9- A Bug's Life

Ok, maybe they didnt show the same Wall-e that they showed the rest of you, but the one I saw, well, the short before the movie was soooo much better. This by far, my least favorite Disney/Pixar production.

The wife and I both agree, a movie we wont need to own. My 4 year old was so excited about going to see Wall-e, so much he cried the other night when we went to see Kungfu Panda because Wall-e wasnt out yet. During the movie, he kept asking when it was going to be over.

It may do well at the box office, but it didnt do well with this Disney geek.

Yeah, I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that but idk maybe it was only incidental, probably not though.

That was probably the quickest Pizza Planet Truck cameo, yet.

But still all in all I thought it was a really great movie. Still not better than then Incredibles for me!

Disney-Pixar does it again

This is now my favorite Disney movie.
Yeah, the movie was a bit dark, for a disney film, but IMO I think that creates the bond with the characters. Look at how many mothers or fathers were dead or gone in the old Disney flicks, it makes the viewer connect emotionally to the characters. (if all was well in Bambi or Simba's life, would there really be a movie?)

I think another part of Wall-e was to humanize this impending technology, and they did that as well as they could. While wall-e isn't very cuddly, you still wanted to hold that robotic hand.

This was a throwback movie made with today's technology. And I loved it.

I loved it, a lot. While I agree, it may offend some people.... it's not lying or anything. Buy n' Large is America... I don't know how much I can laugh about it. I did laugh many times though. Sure, the message was a little heavy, but what isn't these days?

EVE was adorable, so sleek. LOVED the few Apple Inc. subtleties. Disappointed I didn't catch the PP truck or anything else from previous Pixar flicks, I'll be seeing it again so I'll be on the lookout. The green message and the plant icon were so..... simplistic, it was an awesome design. This film was right up my alley, I'm definitely going to see it again.

Pixar achieved something big with this film. The humanization of the robots was incredible. WALL•E was just adorable and he had emotion. Obvious emotion. It was great. Each time a new Pixar film comes out, I'm feeling like it's less and less geared toward children.
