Voyage of the Little Mermaid is done, won't reopen with the parks.

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
I'm thinking maybe the new LM movie is a factor here. If the new movie does well when it opens, WDW is going to do what they always do, and market the new version of the story in the parks.
If they “always” do that, then they would have done the Disney Cruise Line show for HS’s show.

I shudder at the growing trend of calling things that are still relatively new "classics." Classic to me means something people still know and care about after 25 years or so. Certainly not ten-ish years.

Classic should have a meaning beyond "thing I like."
I’m not a fan of that either. It seems like every new WDAS release these days is considered a classic right off the bat, even the lesser ones.

Just wanted to point out the “recent” PatF tuns 11 years old. I’m pretty sure we can all agree that by the year 2000 when Mermaid was that old we were calling it a classic.

I don’t know if I would call PatF better then Mermaid but I will point out they serve a similar place in their receptive eras. Both occurred shortly after a live action/animated hybrid (Rodger Rabbit/Enchanted) that was the first big success for the company in many years, were the first animated fairy tales and the first real hits that heralded WDFA returning to form, both were followed by flops (Rescuers Down Under/Winnie the Pooh) and then a string of massive hits for the company.

What's the over/under on a PatF live-action remake?

Tangled probably has a better shot.

But I suspect it's up there. Contrary to the animation purists I feel like PatF would have worked better as a CGI movie. Don't get me wrong the animation was beautiful but I think the shift in animation style, going against the "new normal" (POINTS!) contributed to it's lukewarm reception. Regardless, I bet the live action version would be more $uccessful than the original.

You might want to choose another YouTube content creator, Channel Awesome and the Nostalgia Critic do not have the best reputation.

I'm well aware of the entire Channel Awesome escapades, however I still watch Nostalgia Critic. Do you people still watch films with John Lasseter's or Harvery Weinstein's names on them? I wonder.

Movies are the work of thousands of artists, I choose to focus on celebrating their contributions. You tube videos have far less people involved, and are done by teams of less then five usually. At least 3 of the people involved in making those videos are tainted, so yes I think it’s quite different.

Really? Because given the amount of influence John Lasseter had at Pixar and the past 13 years at Disney Animation you couldn't tell me the difference. Sounds like hypocrisy if you ask me.

Really stinks how Winnie the Pooh unperformed. It's a really good movie.

I hated that show anyway. I felt like I had ptsd when I watched it. The same for Beauty and the Beast, and Nimo. Condensing a 90 minute movie into 15 minutes just freaks my brain out...LOL

Also when the abuse came to light those people were fired, I don’t plan on watching anything they produce in the future. Channel Awesomes toxic leadership is still in place.
