It said a lot about how little Disney thought of booth the Pooh character and traditional animation.
Not as bad as how the Muppets have been handled by Disney. Back to the topic of Voyage of the Little Mermaid a Princess and the Frog show would be fantastic!! Personally I see Animation Courtyard being demolished rather than having a new show added.

Also when the abuse came to light those people were fired, I don’t plan on watching anything they produce in the future. Channel Awesomes toxic leadership is still in place.

Came to light publicly. Apparently it wasn't a revelation to those inside the company. I don't think anyone else was fired though.

I've heard a conspiracy theory that Lasseter and others engineered the release of Winnie the Pooh to coincide with Harry Potter to help kill traditional 2D animation, but that's just a conspiracy...I think.

They were the ones who said it could come back and would be the decision of the filmmakers. That’d be an odd move since they could have just not brought it back.

I have to admit the show is getting old. I remember when I first saw it and the water came down like you were actually under the sea and though wow that was really cool. Now, I think they can do so much better. Even better than what they are doing with Nemo. They need to come up with some state of the art kind of show. I don't really care what show it is other than Frozen, but it has to be new amazing stuff. Come on Imagineers.

Pooh was doomed the moment a marketing genius thought opening the same week as the final Harry Potter movie would be good counter programming.
Just like Princess and the Frog is was done on purpose to push it to obscurity and failure. The same was done to Treasure Planet and Atlantis, and it was tried with Lilo and Stitch but Stitch was able to reach audiences past the political push to silence it.

Go revive a thread from 2009 or something. You’re tiring.

I don’t know where you are going with this but ever since Return of the King there has been a string of franchise finales that completely dominate the box office the week they open, Deadly Hallows 2 was such a movie. Opening any movie opposite it was a dumb decision, I did not suggest it was some grand conspiracy just pointing out an important variable surrounding Winnie the Pooh.

It's widely known in the Animation world that forces within the Disney company took steps and measures to make sure that many of Disney Animation's films in the 2000's were to fail on purpose. Why? This has not been disclosed as it is highly concerning and suspicious behavior for a movie studio. Multiple animators and people involved in these projects have come out and spoken about these instances.

Widely known? By who? You and you alone? Companies don't set up things to fail. Even if they know they're going to fail, they're going to try to milk as much money out of it as possible. That's absolutely the stupidest thing I've ever heard.
