UNM was always great and its too bad that thick-headed individuals such as yourself refuse to see that and get it through your heads! Embrace it immediately!

Oh...and the video link below was found under the full length Tiki show. Talk about Stitch causing havoc on the Castle! I found this to be quite neat! Although I thought to myself - how cool would that be for WDW! Then thought about all the b*t*hing and complaing from parents about getting soaked and not being about to record it. hahaha Just watch and see what I mean. Very "cool" effects if you think about it. Oh..and watch the crowd. They are VERY into it - clapping, jumping when the performers jump - they know the show.

WHAT!?!?!

They did not get the castle cake for their 25th?!?!:fork::animwink:

How soon can we expect the closure of UNM?

I find it so funny that so many people are experts on everything Disney and like to tell people how it should be. How many kids out there love Stitch but have problems with being in the dark at SGE. Moving Stitch to the Tiki room is a great idea, like it or not. This updates the Tiki room with a with a kid favorite. I know my kids will want to see this show over and over.

Too bad Stitch does not have his Elvis jump suit on. I hope they toss in a Elvis song or two when they change it.

After watching the whole video, I'm impressed. While it's not better than the original Tiki Room, it's neither loud nor obnoxious. And, even though I couldn't understand a word of it beyond the name Stitch, I enjoyed it. I do wish the original song started off the show, and that there was perhaps a bigger ending - like the thunderstorm of the the original - but otherwise I, too, liked how Stitch didn't dominate the show but was instead there was a build up with the Tiki Room doing its thing and then eventually bringing him out...like the headliner of a rock concert, perhaps. I also kind of wish they hadn't changed the s.e.x. of one of the emcees (I couldn't tell who got the boot from the video), but that's just the purist in me talking. So, I can say now without a doubt, if they won't put back the original in the Magic Kingdom, I'm all for this. I'll miss Stitch's Great Escape!, but if this is what they're going to do with the Audio-Animatronic, then I guess I'm okay with it. Not that it matters what I think, of course, but at least it would get me to visit the show again...and return to it on a future visit.
But, above all else, leave Disneyland's alone!

Once again, you are in the minority. Most WDW guests love UNM and that's the truth, so get used to it and embrace it or suffer the same fate that I intend to bestow upon CThaddeus. :fork:

Stitch IS Tomorrowland-ish and you know it, so don't be stupid! :fork:

EVERYTHING in Tomorrowland is cool, so get used to it!

Well, hey! I'm honored. I've never had my own hate club before...that I knew of anyway. I'm surprised I missed this yesterday. This makes my Monday...
One thing I'm curious about - wasn't the original Alien Encounter actually more of a psychological thing (ie. more threatening sounds than actual "deaths")? I have a copy of a version Martin put out that I liked a lot more (except that SIR was poorly voiced by Phil Hartman instead of the always smooth Tim Curry) that didn't seem like it was just one killing after another. If they must bring it back, I'd prefer something more along the psychological lines. It takes more cleverness to frighten an audience that way than to go for the straightforward easy killing of a worker/audience member. To me, it's like the difference between the movies "Psycho" and "Friday the 13th."

Eh, ditch the stitch ears on the birds bring back the Tiki room song but keep the stitch AA. If they had a song that featured Stitch they could market that. But please don't bring those stitch ears in they look REALLY tacky.

Just a quick thought...

If they DO make another change to WDW's tiki room (please!!), what do you think they'd have to do about the voices for the original birds? Sadly, not all the original voice talent is available... :( But I'd still like to hear the original opening lines by the original voices.

I don't know if that would be possible though, because there would have to be a change in the sounds of the voices mid-stream.

Wouldn't this be the first tiki room change since X wasn't around anymore?

And... Is it just me or does all this talk of changing the WDW's tiki room feel like it's coming straight outta left field?!?!?!? :veryconfu I'm not doubting you, jedimaster... It just feels weird. Like it wasn't on the radar hardly at all, then now you're saying they're ready to put refurb walls up. I hope it's true though!

It sounds like the MK is going to be the place to be during its 40th!! :sohappy::sohappy:

Does anybody know how big of a footprint the new DCA "Flying Saucer"/"Cars Hubcap" ride will have? Would the ride floor fit in the existing Circle-Vision/MLF theater?

It seems like a no-brainer to duplicate that ride at WDW as either true flying saucers or even BnL Fat People Hovercraft (which we be kind of ironic, since many park guests would have to get off their real lazy-cart in order to ride the attraction poking fun at such laziness!)

The only drawback of putting that in the MLF building would be that passersby couldn't watch it, which I think would be part of the fun of a new Flying Saucer ride.

Also, Jedimaster--- if you could answer--- would the SGE replacement take advantage of the same MtM/AE/SGE sunken theaters-in-the-round? Or would they finally fill those in like they did at DL to build the Pizza Port restaurant??
