If they are such big fan's of the original than why do they suggest that the birds should "get hip" or your audience will dissappear. I would rather have the wrecking ball than having an obnoxious parrot calling me a sucker for 15 minutes.
Ugh, I find myself having to say something to support Disneynut2007 lol if only a little anyways!
At the time in the 90s, when the WDW Tiki room was falling apart...quite literally feathers dropping off the birds (no joke!), flowers with broken mouths,etc...they truly considered destroying the attraction since the fans were turned off by all this and attendance numbers had plummeted. So YES they saved the Tiki Room from demolition.... the lesson they took was that it needed to be changed along with the fixing up of the attraction itself. At the time, this course seems logical... later when they announced plans to do the same at DL people from all over made it clear that they loved the attraction. The Imagineers took a leap of faith and fixed up the attraction (shortening the show too but leaving the heart and soul of the original show intact) and Now it is a big success.
So, now with Disneyland's success story in mind, I believe they see the same result in WDW Orlando, and I believe they will be successful.
