Using a Travel Agent?

Hi guys,
smile.gif

So from one of my recent posts, I have seen there are some benefits to using Travel Agents when booking for Disney. I don't want to get into a discussion on using a TA vs not using one.
What I would like are any opinions or feedback on the MANY options I've seen mentioned in just a few places! Some of them are even being suggested on my own posts!

Magical Memories
Small World
Dreams Unlimited
Mouse Ears Vacations
Mouseketrips
SmallWorld Vacations
AAA
Magical Vacations
Magical Journeys
Kingdom Konsultants
Off to Neverland Travel
mymagicdestinations

That is a lot of options!

Does anyone have any solid feedback, or positive/negative experiences, with these? How is one supposed to choose?!

Thanks!

If you use AAA, be sure that the agent you use is well-versed in Disney.

You have Small World listed twice. There are others you don't have at all, there are many more!

Kingdom Konsultants is the sponsor here.

The pricing you get from each should be identical, if you are comparing identical options.

To me, it comes down to service; I also prefer to have multiple communications channels open to me - email as well as phone; some of those you listed do not do phone calls.

The WDWMAGIC Travel Agent sponsor is Kingdom Konsultants. They've been with us now for years, and are very highly rated here on the forums from the 100s of members who have used them (including myself). Do a search for them and you'll find lots of comments. :)

Is there a Kingdom Konsultants website I can view?

I like Kingdom Konsultants the best. Of course I am a bit biased.:D

In all truth I was a customer of KK for about 2 years before becoming an agent. The service I got from them was always incredible. I no longer had to keep track of discounts or call Disney Dining at exactly 7:00 AM 1580 days out. I just sent Marie an email and it was all taken care of.

I am very PRO Kingdom Konsultants... We work with Tammy, and I will tell ya, she has helped us sooo much with reservations and such. If it weren't for her we would have been the ones frustrated, on hold, hours on the phone.... etc... She knows so much more about Disney's policies than I ever have, or will, for that matter. Gives me peace of mind.

We used Kingdom Konsultants for the first time last October, and they were wonderful in every respect. We will use them again when the time comes - not soon enough!

We used Kingdom Konsultants for our Disneyland Trip this past year and let me tell you Elizabeth was great to us! We had so many complications come up...between us booking off property, then switching to on property, then having to shorten our trip because our friends were getting married and i was in the wedding, then the wedding being cancelled so we added a day back to our trip, then Disneyland released a new package and we added another day back to our trip...Elizabeth never batted an eye while dealing with us. I've never had someone else book a trip for me so I was alittle overbearing at first IMO, but she handled it well and was always on top of everything even if I wasn't!

I hope she comes back in time to book our DL Paris trip! :) We will definitely be using KK again...especially because I find the DLP website VERY confusing!!!

I was a die hard book it myself kind of person.

However when booking my first cruise I went with Kingdom Konsultants (Marie - or Wannabebelle - to be specific)

I did the whole transaction by email, one call (she called me) and one fax.

I gave Marie something like a 2 month window and 3 possible statroom levels and she priced every possible combo out and had it back to me in somthing like 30 minutes.

It was then a simple matter of me looking at the prices and going "I want that one". She then took care of all the booking. I did my own shore excursions, but that was my choice.

I went back to her when I booked our Aug 2011 cruise

We have always used AAA and even when I got an unexpected pin # They helped and did all the calling and got me the discount I also get perks that just AAA members get. I also liked that they would help me out in an emergancy when we were in Mexico last year during the swine flu outbreak we called and they gave us our options and let us know what was really going on. There service was great. But it is always a matter of what you like some will like one place and another won't just like what hotel is someone fav.

Pam at Kingdom Konsultants, along with Denise and other are AMAZING. First their knowledge of Disney is excellent. Second, their level of customer service goes above and beyond - I have booked over 10 trips with Pam from Grand Gatherings to family trips, to times for just my husband and I - every single one has been great and she always works so hard - she even makes our ADR's for us - I would not work with anyone else!

We did the same thing. For Disney trips I book myself, but for our first DCL cruise I had no idea what I was doing. I contacted Tammy from KK (DisneyFalcon), and she has done an awesome job thus far, and I'm sure I'll be relying on her expertise as our August 2011 cruise on the Dream gets closer.

Highly recommend Kingdom Konsultants! :D

Love Kingdom Konsultants. Pam has booked 3 vacations for us and I have referred her to my family and friends because she is so good. As a matter of fact, I just got all my travel stuff today from her :)

LOL....I guess I am at a huge disadvantage here....LOL but since you listed many agencies. I figured I would like to throw my agency into the ring. Its small. But has the same attention to detail as the rest. Also I specialize in Disney vactions. Kingdom has always done a great job. Although it seems as though I am new here I have been lurking this site for sometime now.

I even have learned a few things from the great agents at Kingdom....LOL
many you have listed you couldnt go wrong with.

My favorite thing about Kingdom Konsultants is that they don't treat you like a lay person. They understand you have an idea of what you want and what things are. I called a Disney rep and explained I wanted to upgrade my dining plan. He then explained to me what the dining plan was, what each consisted of, gave me examples, suggested restaurants, etc...While this would be very helpful to a lay person, I obviously knew about the dining plan since I was only upgrading and did not need the whole spiel. After they ask you if you have been there 5 or more times and I answer "yes" you would think they realize I have some idea and not explain magical express, park hoppers, extra magic hours, etc...

Guys, thank you all for the information. :) :ROFLOL:

@karenatwdw - what kind of discounts/perks does AAA give?

@the rest.. seems everyone is talking about KK. I can't help but wonder if I need to take this with a grain of salt.. seems like a pretty biased community.

I've received some messages on other forums saying they have heard some 'not so good things' about KK (although I couldn't get specifics.. maybe just dirty marketing tactics haha).
The website seems a little :lookaroun ... and they have a link to "their facebook page" which doesn't exist. Not much info here.. and they're based out of .. New Jersey?! Wouldn't I want to book with an agency based in Orlando?

Not trying to trash on anything. :) Just playing devil's advocate I guess... being the cautious new guy.
