Unless I've missed something, the show is exactly the same as it's always been. Actually, at some point they reordered the show and actually placed the songs in order, Be Our Guest used to open the show then Belle happened. As a result they also added part of the Belle reprise and added the part with the Enchantress at the beginning too. So all they've done is add and improve things not take away.

There is no way in Hades it is the same show... And in no way was it improved... Things were definitely removed.. The show does not flow right... There is something off about it...

Really? I thought the insiders on here were pretty adamant that LMA is soon to be gone, at least partly because of the cost required to operate it. I'm pretty skeptical that both LMA and Backlot Tour will be operating in 4 years, unless Burbank decides to not do any Cars/Pixar expansion at DHS.

One change is that (many years ago) the fight scene between Beast and Gaston was inside the castle and it ended with Gaston falling off the balcony to his death.
The last time that I saw it (about a year and a half ago) the fight was outside the castle, Gaston stabs Beast and then he runs off. That's right. The bad guy gets away!
Could it be that some of the more "sensitive" guests were upset that Gaston fell off of a balcony but have no problem whatsoever him getting away with Murder?

The Backlot Tour will be closing in February 2014 for a 3 month long refurb.

I can actually see this happening. The inside information provided by other people on the forum have stated that the creation of the Star Wars area has been moved up in schedule. Since the most likely area for this expansion is around where Star Tours currently is, Disney won't need to touch anything in the back of the park where Backlot Tour and LMA are. Once the Star Wars area is completed, then Disney could decide to place something back there if they wanted to.

Yea, and watered it down since it first opened... It is a really bad mish-mash of the songs from the movie... Used to be watchable, now it is unbearable..

That's a bit harsh. My family and I really enjoyed the show this past September. I just think the problem with it is that it's been running forever and people want new fresh things to see when they go back to HS. As far as the show though, we really enjoyed it (regardless of the changes).

Wile I can't say I'd be completely surprised if the Backlot Tour and LMA were around another 4 years, I would be completely surprised if there was actually a 4 year contract for the LMA performers/support staff. No way they lock things in that long.

I have a home video of the show way back at when it was in the Backlot Theater before the new Theater of the Stars was built and the fight ends the same way as it does today, it takes place in front of the castle backdrop, Beast gets stabbed and then Gaston runs off. So unless the change was made only a year or two after it opened, I never remember seeing that version of the fight.
