Unlimited Fastpasses, Two Disney Hotels, and a Chef’s Table – It’s all Good Until Somebody Barfs

I just got back from the Happiest Place on Earth! And oh how I love it there. Disneyland is my home away from home. We spent so much time there when we lived in California and I have so many wonderful memories of it. I don’t get there near as often as I like anymore. So when some training was offered for travel agents, I knew I was there!

Who – Me of course! And Pam, Missy and Dani were coming for training too! There was a whole gaggle of Kingdom Konsultants! Well, is four a gaggle? Maybe not, but it was still fun! Here we all are from left to right Tammy, Missy, Pam and Dani:

DisneylandTrainingDay326.jpg

When – August 22nd -August 27th

Where – 4 nights at the Grand Californian and one at the Disneyland Hotel

What – Some agent training and some fun!

Catch phrase of the trip – “It’s all good until somebody barfs.” Don’t worry, nobody actually barfed. :) More on that later…

After riding, we decided to leave the madness of Cars Land and head for quieter parts of the park which was, well, everywhere. I’ll have many more pictures of Cars Land when it’s quieter.

We cut through Bug’s Land:

Trolley!!

We walked on Tower of Terror next.

Then we stopped in the Animation building so I could show Pam and Dani one of my favorite attractions, the Zoetrope. It’s a super cool thing that’s almost impossible to describe. There are a series of completely stationary characters in different poses on circular rings. The rings start spinning and then the lights start flashing and it looks like the characters are moving. It’s so cool!! They both loved it. I’ll have pictures from it the next time we stop in.

After that we went through Beast’s Library to see what character Dani was. She’s sitting on the chair in the back:

Then we sang a little Hakuna Matata karaoke which, I can assure you, we were awesome at. And yes, I know I just ended that sentence with a preposition. Back off, Grammar Police.

Back outside, we passed by the new Storyteller’s statue:

After that, Dani and Pam stopped for some Starbucks while I was sorely tempted by Clarabelle’s Ice Cream, but we were eating big in about an hour so I showed some small modicum of self restraint.

We went to the room to change and relax for a minute.

For dinner we had two things to look forward to! First, we were eating at Steakhouse 55 and second, and more importantly (!), we were meeting Mukta!! Yes, that Mukta from Wdwmagic! I love meeting people from Wdwmagic!

We walked to the Disneyland Hotel:

DisneylandTrainingDay1247.jpg

Mukta lives in California and had the night free so she met us at the restaurant. And I’ll get this out of the way – picture fail. Totally forgot to use the giant camera strapped to my neck for anything but food.

Thankfully I did get pictures of food! Well the dessert at least. The entrees are served ala carte, so while delicious, they weren’t as attractive. But I did get pictures of dessert!

Now check this baby out. I split it with Mukta. It’s 24 layer chocolate cake. 24 layers!!!

DisneylandTrainingDay1250.jpg

After we were done, we walked back through Downtown Disney with Mukta. I noticed this ginormous Genie in the Lego Store on our way! It’s hard to tell, but he is huge!

DisneylandTrainingDay1263.jpg

When we reached the entrance to the Grand Californian we said goodbye and went our separate ways. Mukta was so incredibly nice. We all enjoyed dinner with her! Thank you for meeting us Mukta!!

We walked back up to the room and Dani and I decided to check out the Mad T Party before bed. I left (Shock!) my camera charging in the room and we walked into the park and took the Trolley down Hollywood Boulevard. The Mad T Party is kind of crazy. I’d been to its predecessor ElecTRONica before and I do prefer the Mad T Party. But it’s still kind of crazy. It’s like a nightclub opened up in the middle of a Disney park. A very wholesome, heavily monitored nightclub, but a nightclub none the less.

Of course there aren’t many nightclubs where you see a girl getting down with a Chewbacca backpack on her back. Or maybe there are?

There are glowing drinks for sale, a DJ named White Rabbit, Emcee’s named Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, an incredibly strange dancing slinky, dance groups, bands, it’s all very interesting! I went back another night to take pictures so you’ll see what it looks like soon.

After that we walked back to the room. It was crazy late our time and the water was shutting off from 11-5 so we wanted to be back before that happened!

We all went to sleep pretty quickly. I knew I’d be up around 5 because of the time change and tomorrow was a big day! Missy was arriving and training was starting! It’s a tough job people!

Cars Land looks absolutely incredible! It's so immersive and detailed. I really do need to see this with my own eyes.

Okay. So I got to this picture and in all the glorious details the first thing I noticed was the redhead left of center. Had to look twice to see if she was wearing a top! Interesting choice of outfit in a I-wish-I-had-the-bod-n-confidence-to-pull-this-off way. :p

Awwww...I love this little detail! I would love to have some exterior wall sconces like these on our next house. Laugh if you want but I would sooooo do it! LOL!

We walked to the Disneyland Hotel:

DisneylandTrainingDay1247.jpg

I want to stay here someday. How terrible of a human being would I be if I started planting seeds with Tracey to ditch his family on the Allure of the Seas in 2013 to go to Disneyland instead? The funny part is I bet he'd do it because he wants to go to Disneyland and stay at the Disneyland Hotel almost as much as me. LOL! I did buy my MegaMillions tickets last night. Maybe we'll be able to do BOTH!

Now check this baby out. I split it with Mukta. It’s 24 layer chocolate cake. 24 layers!!!

I changed my mind. I want THIS 10 minutes of your life. LOL! Seriously, the only thing that could possibly top 24 layers of chocolate cake would be 25 layers. The only thing that could top 25 layers would be..... you get the idea. :p

After that we walked back to the room. It was crazy late our time and the water was shutting off from 11-5 so we wanted to be back before that happened!

Curious. Why? Did they say?

Isn't it so cute! I love him too. I won't laugh if you do that! Your neighbors might, but I wouldn't!

Not terrible, but Tracey's family would probably prefer you win megamillions! Me too! Then you could take me! :)

Yes! This 10 minutes! Lol!

Curious. Why? Did they say?

I think they did say why, but I don't remember what they said. They may have just said some kind of maintenance. There was a letter on our bed when they did the turn down service. I thought 11 was kind of early considering the parks didn't close until 11 and 12. They did leave us some bottles of water though.

Hee hee!!

I've been trying to email you back this morning by the way but our email server has gone wonky. We can receive emails but not send them. It's making me crazy!!

No problem. I was up way too late last night anyway so I'm working my procrastination bone extra this morning. I'll be pokin' around when it sends. :D

Did I mention it's making me crazy! It's almost worse that I can see emails and not reply! :)

Now that would make me crazy. It's like being able to see everything but having someone's hand over your mouth so you can't say anything. I never shut up. I think this might kill me if it happened to me.

Tammy,

I'm so jealous of many things in the report.
The fact that you stayed at Grand Californian, the fact that you knew your way around Downtown Disney ( I didn't figure out where it even was until my last day ) and the amazing pictures you took!

Wonderful report so far, can't wait for more!
