Unlimited Fastpasses, Two Disney Hotels, and a Chef’s Table – It’s all Good Until Somebody Barfs

I just got back from the Happiest Place on Earth! And oh how I love it there. Disneyland is my home away from home. We spent so much time there when we lived in California and I have so many wonderful memories of it. I don’t get there near as often as I like anymore. So when some training was offered for travel agents, I knew I was there!

Who – Me of course! And Pam, Missy and Dani were coming for training too! There was a whole gaggle of Kingdom Konsultants! Well, is four a gaggle? Maybe not, but it was still fun! Here we all are from left to right Tammy, Missy, Pam and Dani:

DisneylandTrainingDay326.jpg

When – August 22nd -August 27th

Where – 4 nights at the Grand Californian and one at the Disneyland Hotel

What – Some agent training and some fun!

Catch phrase of the trip – “It’s all good until somebody barfs.” Don’t worry, nobody actually barfed. :) More on that later…

Beautiful pictures of my beautiful Fantasyland.:) I worked there for DCP Fall 2011.

That poor woman! Honestly, I wouldn't have been able to tell her either.:( At least not in front of everyone.

It's too bad you didn't get to go in Walt's Apartment! It's beautiful in there. Those hotels have very nice rooms!

I love Fantasyland! I wish I had some beautiful blue skies in the background, but it is what it is. :)

None of us could tell her either. If we had even remotely known her I could have. I just couldn't tell a complete stranger.

I wish we could have gone in too!!

I was on a mission before I went to the parks! I knew a signed Star Wars Vinylmation would be the perfect souvenir for Ds17. So I was off to Downtown Disney for the release of Star Wars Series 2 Vinylmations, and one of the creators who was signing them. This was sure to be a very long line.

Missy, Dani and Pam went back to the rooms to drop stuff off and then went to California Adventure.

I waited about 45 minutes in line, but time passed quickly. Vinylmation/Star Wars fans are very friendly people and everybody was talking. There were some serious traders who’d camped out just outside the store with cases and cases of them. I learned from the people standing around us that I have a very valuable Vinylmation at home! Okay, technically my son has a very valuable Vinylmation at home. :D

It’s the Disneyland chaser from Parks 1!

It’s going for about $600 on ebay! Woo hoo!

Here are some people getting pictures up in front of us:

Here’s Mr. Jones:

After I got my autographs (thank you Mr. Jones!) I met up with everyone in Cars Land where they were shopping. FYI, I believe they also took advantage of those unlimited Fastpasses!

It was almost time for our dinner at Carthay Circle that night, so we walked there next. There were always so many cast members at the check in desk:

Dinner was quite yummy. Missy and Dani both got kids meals so Pam and I got to have fun at their expense. :)

Forgot what this was:

These are the famous jalapeno biscuits. They were kind of strange but good!

It’s all good until - well you know the rest.

Pam and Dani went back to the room for a few minutes so Missy and I explored. We walked back to the Pier. When you order an appetizer or dessert with your entrée at Carthay Circle you get World of Color Fastpasses. We didn’t need them since we were seeing World of Color as a group so we went and found a family to give them to.

DisneylandTrainingDay4450.jpg

I didn’t bring a tripod, so I just snapped some quick pictures as we walked.

Next we walked through Bug’s Land. There was no line for Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train, so we decided to give it a whirl.

Since there was nobody in line, Missy wanted a picture hugging Heimlich. Here’s where I had a quite funny moment. Probably only funny to myself and camera lovers. So skip ahead if you have no interest in photography!

I recently purchased a new camera. I’m a photographer and I do a decent amount of family portraits for friends and family. Moving so frequently makes it difficult to get a business license, so I work for free at this point. Because of that, I haven’t been able to justify an upgrade to a full frame camera and the cost that comes along with it. I outgrew my 50D long ago and have been itching for an upgrade. When the 5D Mark III was released, it had my name written all over it. Dear sweet husband agreed to the purchase right before this trip. I had barely had time to play with it, but I knew I was in love. With the camera AND my husband of course. :D

I despise pop up flashes with every fiber of my being and will only use it in the direst of circumstances. I have an external flash, but I don’t tend to carry it around the parks. The low light capabilities of the 5D was the perfect solution. I didn’t need a flash. Ever.

Well, until Heimlich. It was so dark back there, I knew there was no way I couldn’t use it and Missy wanted a picture with Heimlich! So, out of desperation, I tried to pop up my flash. Hmm. The button wasn’t where I was expecting it. The CM even tried to help me which was a little embarrassing. Finally we just boarded and Missy handed me a flashlight to find it. I searched the entire ride to no avail. It wasn’t until later that I realized, my brand new, crazy expensive, completely awesome camera doesn’t even have a pop up flash!!

Well that’s embarrassing! :p

I completely understand, people who use this camera don’t like a pop up flash any more than I do, but it’s funny that I didn’t even know that.

I researched the camera, Honey. Really I did.

DisneylandTrainingDay4503.jpg

We walked over to the Mad T Party next. We didn’t stay long, but I wanted to take some pictures (with my camera that I definitely know how to use. Really. I promise.) so we walked around a little.

Okay. I'm no photographer and don't know squat about cameras but I definitely found this humorous! :D My question is this: if Missy had a flashlight, how come you didn't hold the flashlight on her as a light source while taking a quick picture? I realize you only have 2 hands but you coulda maybe fenagled-it, huh? Kinda like a cop on tv clearing a dark room with a flashlight and a gun. LOL! Now THAT woulda been funny! Or better yet, have the nice CM hold the flashlight while Missy "works it" some more with Heimlich!! ROFL! Oh I just tickled myself!

Lol! That is an excellent question!! Haha! It was a tiny flashlight, but maybe we could have done something! That is a humorous picture you created!! I bet the CM would have helped. Especially after they saw Missy's mad modeling skillz. :)

Shouldn't you be packing!!

Beautiful photos. Everything is so beautiful. Carthay looks amazing! I can't wait to eat there and soak up the details. I love Disneyland at night but California Adventure at night is awesome, too. Mad T Party is a lot of fun. Can't wait for my next Disneyland trip!
