Unlimited Fastpasses, Two Disney Hotels, and a Chef’s Table – It’s all Good Until Somebody Barfs

I just got back from the Happiest Place on Earth! And oh how I love it there. Disneyland is my home away from home. We spent so much time there when we lived in California and I have so many wonderful memories of it. I don’t get there near as often as I like anymore. So when some training was offered for travel agents, I knew I was there!

Who – Me of course! And Pam, Missy and Dani were coming for training too! There was a whole gaggle of Kingdom Konsultants! Well, is four a gaggle? Maybe not, but it was still fun! Here we all are from left to right Tammy, Missy, Pam and Dani:

When – August 22nd -August 27th

Where – 4 nights at the Grand Californian and one at the Disneyland Hotel

What – Some agent training and some fun!

Catch phrase of the trip – “It’s all good until somebody barfs.” Don’t worry, nobody actually barfed. More on that later…

Once inside we took up a whole room of the restaurant which we pretty much had to ourselves. This was a great character meal. One of the guys counted 11 different characters. The food was good too!

We were flooded with characters right after we sat down.

I had to take a picture of the drink fountain because it was gorgeous and because there was Coke Zero on tap! Woot woot!

I knew I wanted to get some pictures of the castle with no one in front, so Missy came to be my “ears model” while everyone else was finishing up.

Outside:

Missy in my ears! I know it's confusing. I couldn't take pictures of my own head. Just go with it.

Missy jumped in!

At some point Missy launched into several different poses and I was yelling “Work it!” like we were on America’s Next Top Model. There were so many great pictures I eventually missed because I couldn’t stop laughing hysterically long enough to take a picture. The Photopass photographer next to us was laughing pretty hard too.

That Missy, she cracks me up.

We raced back to catch up with everyone who were gathering outside the restaurant.
Then we walked down Main Street, U.S.A. where I took a picture of just about every single sign along the way!

This morning we were taking a Walk in Walt’s Footsteps Tour! That’s up next!

It’s time for a Walk in Walt’s Footsteps Tour! So exciting!

Jess was our tour guide and she did a great job.

The tour was very good. We walked all over and even rode Jungle Cruise.

We even took turns for photo opps in the elevator.

Sadly that was as far as we got and we were back outside! Still overcast.

We walked into Great Moment’s With Lincoln to see some of the memorabilia.

At the end we were in the hall and Jess was telling us the story of Walt’s passing and the dedication of the Partners statue on Main Street. A couple of the agents were tearing up and we heard sniffing behind us. There was a random guest listening to the story while she was pressing pennies and she had burst into tears!

It was actually quite funny.

I’d definitely recommend the tour, especially since they are adding a tour of Walt’s apartment!

Our debriefing:

After we all got our pins, we went back to the conference center for another classroom session followed by a buffet lunch.

We walked through Downtown Disney.

After lunch Missy and Dani felt the need to get a Mickey bar, and they sprinted to Whitewater Snacks to get us all some. We were the envy of everyone on the bus when we were loading up for our tours.

We started our tours at the Motel 6 Maingate:

Next was the Anabella. We all were very impressed with the Anabella.

It’s right down the street from Paradise Pier. You can see the back of California Adventure through the trees across the street:

They had a whole adult only pool!

This room had a little daybed in another room for some privacy:

After that, we went to the Hilton Garden Inn.

Next up was the Homewood Suites where I have stayed before and liked:

We finished up at the Marriott where I have also stayed before.

The women giving us the tour had an unfortunate situation happening. The bottom button of her (untucked) shirt came undone and you could see her belly. Worse (?) than that, you could see the top of her pantyhose. There was no discreet way to tell her with so many people there, and after some quiet debating, we decided not to. We were hoping she would think it just happened when she noticed it.

When we got on the bus, we realized we weren’t the only ones that noticed and the guys on the bus slammed all the women for not telling her. They said we, as fellow women, should have had her back.

They were probably right. My bad, very nice lady who took us on the tour.

When we got back from the tours, we needed a break. And we got more unlimited Fastpasses! Woo hoo! A chance for redemption!
