Twinkle Lights Returning to Hub in MK

I've seen this topic for a while now and yet as far as I can tell, no one who would know whether this is true has confirmed this is even happening. The source in the original post itself has no link to the patent and i've yet to see any proof of this. Can anyone who is in the know even confirm these lights are returning or not? I'm not holding my breath since this sort of died down (not to mention they apparently uprooted many of the existing trees on one side of Main Street after finishing the facade refurbs, I fear for the foliage on Main Street and would like to see more trees there)...

What ever happened to the tree arboretum, you know the one that supposedly had a duplicate tree for every tree planted in the park.

Still there, it's behind Animal Kingdom. I've seen it driving past a couple of times, and its been featured on a few recent Travel Channel specials.

Edit: Here it is: Wikimapia

I stand corrected, however I believe they no longer keep to the old duplicate tree theory of the past from the looks of its size.

Maybe, I remember though that when a tree in Adventureland got sick back in March/April and in one night they removed it and replaced it with a tree of the same size. I don't know if it was the same exact kind though.

Sounds great...nothing like a vast flat area of concrete...sort of like standing in the parking lot at your local mall. So magical

The park needs an area to put people in to watch the shows. The more people that can fit in to the center means less people blocking the appropriate walkways. I don't happen to find trees or flowers magical. They're fine where they belong but not in the middle of a space that should be completely open with zero sight line obstacles.

The answer to this is to have more shows...not bigger shows. You customize the show schedule to the venue. Not spoil the venue to accommodate the show. Especially when the venue IS the show.

One time I was trying to watch Wishes... I found a spot really close to the Dream Along with Mickey stage. I thought everything was going to be fine, but then there was this giant castle in the way and it blocked my view of some of the fireworks! Knock that thing down!

Would you also suggest they fill in the Seven Seas Lagoon as well?

Can anyone answer this for me? When did the trees really start to disappear in the Hub? What year?

And another one. When did Disney really start to push the PhotoPass?

I think these two things may be closely related. Much easier to sell a photo with Cindy's Castle as a background, then it is to sell photos with backgrounds of dumb trees. I may be way off, but I am just putting 2 and 2 together.

This is why we need to document the declining by degrees timeline-you may be able to see some connections

Well I was in the MK new years night til 3am and it was eerily dark...and with few people staying that late it gave me a different viewpoint. I don't remember grad night being that dark..buy then again the park was swamped then..and it was cough twenty years ago

I heard that, as part of the next-gen project, Disney will be installing screens. On those screens, your personalized, favorite type of tree will be displayed as you walk by. The tree will even say hello to you BY NAME! It might even be your favorite color. How cool is that!?!

OMG can't wait!!

(Will we be able to give them our favorite tree preferences at 180 days out? Hope so!)

I'm just picturing technical problems:
