Twinkle Lights Returning to Hub in MK

I think the fuss over fireworks is hilarious. It's the year 2012. To me, fireworks displays all look pretty much the same. I remember when I was young we didn't even have a color TV so fireworks were amazing and I could not see anything like it. Then up to the 80s we didn't have VCRs or anything so we couldn't control what we saw on TV, and it was rare to see fireworks. Now, with not only DVDs and Youtube and whatever, you can see all kinds of magical, colorful things any time you want.

If there are fireworks shooting off somewhere, I'll look up in the sky for a minute and I do agree they are pretty, but they're pretty to me the way flowers are pretty...I look at them a moment or two and I keep on doing what I was doing. I would not line up to look at flowers and I would not line up and wait hours to see fireworks.

I know that other people love them and go nuts for them, but while they are all camped out staring up at the sky I am trying to ride some attractions that now have short lines.

There was a terrible zombie movie a few years ago called "Land of the Dead" where the humans used to shoot fireworks up into the sky to distract the zombies, who were captivated by them. I have never been able to walk by crowds gathered for Wishes or whatever without thinking about that movie.

Fireworks and parades are a great time for short lines on the attractions.

I saw someone ask this question earlier, but I did not see an answer. When were the lights removed? Was it during the hub redesign in 2005?

They took out the trees in the hub some years ago because they where obstructing the view of the castle and the fireworks. When they left, they replaced them with small magnolia trees that where little more than bushes.
Having just watched the vid that was linked to, I am disappointed that these lights look like strobe lights compared to the originals, there are to many and they are like continual pixie dust. The originals looked like fireflies, these look like special effects that have been left on repeat.
