Twinkle Lights Returning to Hub in MK

Either removable/movable trees or trees that change from shade providing during sunlight to clear at sundown and are therefore non-view-obstructing during evening shows.

A little peek into the future:

The "bring back the trees" movement unexpectedly gains traction over the next couple of months.

By next summer, a huge cult following has developed online in support of repopulating the entire hub with trees.

By 2014, teenagers who never actually experienced a fully leafy hub are rhapsodizing romantically about how cool it was to have trees in the hub, and how all their nostalgic childhood memories are bound up in those trees.

In the spring of 2015, in recognition of the clear fan support for trees, Disney releases a special, limited edition "Remember When?" pin featuring Trees in the Hub. The pin sells out in minutes, and fetches outrageous sums on eBay just hours later.

Just in time for the holiday season that year, a complete retro/nostalgic line of tree merchandise is released, featuring anthropomorphic plush, pre-faded T-shirts, tasteful home decor and kitchenware, and a highly-sought-after, limited edition tree Vinylmation. The merchandise sells like hotcakes.

The trees themselves... never come back.

The castle looked so much better with the trees at the base. Two things currently conspire to make the castle look stunted and ill-proportioned: 1) lack of trees, 2) the zipline. I say put back the trees and take the zipline away. And let people look *up* to see fireworks for Pete's sake.

I agree, but everytime I start talking about the tree removal, I start making comparisons to Brazilian waxing and giant phallic symbols and then the posts disappear, so I'm keeping my mouth shut here beyond saying I wish the Hub of 2002 was still there now.

Yeah thats the conumdrum...trees for shade...or no trees for a view of the fireworks etc.....

How exactly would the trees be blocking the fireworks?

Don't be ridiculous. You know most people aren't watching the fireworks from Town Square--the fools lining up 3 hours before Wishes are doing so in the Hub, where large trees certainly DID block fireworks and the projections onto the castle.

Well if they want to wait 3 hours, they can have trees in the way. If I am going to be waiting that long for a fireworks display, this is what I am going to see:

Anyway, if you are at the bottom of the hub and there were trees, it would not block you from seeing this:

As for the projectors, they are at the top of the hub. Trees behind them would not interfere with the CMs job.

I think the Imagineers need to come up with "Next-gen" trees that are there during the day and then disappear at sunset :D

Then they can pop back up with twinkle lights. I once saw a show were this guy had a driveway that rose from a garage below that held all of his cars and camper. WDW could do it.

They could put them on platforms that sink down below the hub for the castle show and fireworks, and then when they rise up again they would be all twinkling! They could have everyone make a wish or have Tink sprinkle pixie dust and have them re-appear!! There - problem solved.
