You sound like you are simply regurgitating things you've read on other threads and not actually offering any real opinion of your own. DL may be the better park, but MK is not without its merits or unique personality and is not just some lame corporatized copy devoid of any soul.
I can assure you this is my own words. I am very new to the boards. I have not even been to any other Disney chat board. I am THE1HAPPYHAUNT and I approve this message

Ummmmmm no it isn't

It's not nearly as close as Disneyland's Haunted Mansion is to Splash Mountain.
but here's the thang skip, splash mountain does not tower or intrude upon the haunted mansion. the space between the mansion and splash is a seemless transition from new Orleans square into critter country. very similar as the transition from adventureland into new orlean square. your argument is like saying " but tarzan's tree is right next to pirates of the carribbean." once you are in the mansion's yard at Disneyland you are cut off from the rest of the park and the ride experience begins. sure you can kinda glimpse splash if you look but it does stand out or tower over the mansion due to the size of the yard. however to contrast to MK that huge castle LOOMS over the mansion and intrudes on the que experience. we agree to respectfully disagree good sir.

I don't know why you keep saying that the castle intrudes on the queue experience, because if you have ever been to Magic Kingdom, you would know that's not true.

And with the small exception of this part of the Haunted Mansion queue that's outdoors, it's all covered.

The castle is nowhere to be seen in any of the Haunted Mansion queue. Stop saying things like they are facts if they aren't.

Cinderella's Castle is not visible from MK's Haunted Mansion. You either are ill informed or making things up. Giving you the benefit of the doubt, maybe you are thinking about the very top of the newer Tangled castle prop, which becomes more obscured every year as those trees continue to grow in. You're more than welcome to look for yourself: https://goo.gl/maps/dF6jH7gHnRk

The castle is nowhere to be seen from Mansion nor anywhere close by in Liberty Square.

And as much grief that Sleeping Beauty Castle gets for it's size, I am glad we can not see it from all over the park compared to that monstrosity in MK. Let's take the Haunted Mansion in both parks for examples. once I enter the yard of the Mansion in DISNEYLAND to me that is where the rid experience starts. I am full immersed that I am in a yard of a house. I would lose that immersion if I could see a giant *** castle. where as in MK the mansion is right next to the castle. so you have this Victoria era run down mansion next to a giant fantasy castle that can be seen from the que of the ride it ruins any immersion. Haunted Mansion in DISNEYLAND fits perfect into NEW ORLEANS SQUARE I don't even know what land the MK mansion is supposed to be in since it is right next to a giant castle. the castle in Disneyland is perfect the way it is.

Have you even been to the Magic Kingdom? Or even easier, have you even looked at a single picture of the Magic Kingdom? Their mansion is not even remotely Victorian. It is a supposed to be a New England mansion (hence part of Liberty Square) with dutch gothic revival architecture.

I stand corrected then. I may have gotten it confused from a combo of several things. I retract my previous statement. to answer your question I went to Magic Kingdom when I was a kid and memory is spotty from them I guess. only went once but went to Disneyland my whole life being from Cali. I have seen lots of photos and watched walk through videos so from all that I figured my statement was accurate. I do retract my statement of the castle being on top of the florida mansion. people make mistakes but I do not take back about what I said about Disneyland being the better park but I take back my example of castle sizes in relation to the mansions. that is why I love these boards, if something said is not correct someone can point you in the direction of the correct info.

I meant new England but when I was writing the post I could not remember the right style word for the life of me but Victorian kept popping in my head for some reason so I went with that. I did mean new England but had a brain fart
