Sorry you must have seen the wrong movie, I thought it was the best action movie out of Hollywood in years bar none. The human cast was fantastic and only surpassed by the big metal cast. Josh Duhamel, Shia, Fox, Voit, all of them awesome!:sohappy: I can't wait for the second movie!! I say SoundWave makes his return with Shockwave and Devastator to revive Megatron and resume the battle on earth. Until that is Fortress Maximus and Omega Supreme get that signal they sent out in the first movie to come help!

Devastator is dead. He was killed in this film. Choose a different "Combiner"

Thats why my vote goes for bruticus. They changed the brawl charecter to devastator and brawl was a combaticon. If they killed brawl and bonecrusher you are left with using the stunticons and they are not as cool as the other 2.

Regarding the whole flight thing: In the original 3 part episode, "More than Meets the Eye", all Transformers were capable of flight in bot mode. After that, they changed it so that only the Decepticons could fly, making them more of a menace until the introduction of the Aerialbots.
And dont forget the dinobots.

NICE CATCH! That MUST be the reason they called him Devastator!

You're so right...if they killed off Brawl and Bonecrusher they wouldn't have been able to use the constructicons or the combaticons. GOOD SHOW MICHAEL BAY!!! NICE THINKING!

(I would've prefered Devastator over Bruticus though)

I think most of us would have but maybe he thought devastator might have been a bit obvious. I dont think most people would think of a bruticus (except big nerds like me) so it would be a big WOW whos that!

I believe you are correct. When they made the dinobots they used the dino bones as a blue print of sorts to build the machines then bring them to life. I have that problem solved though. What if some of the autobots crash into dinosaur the ride over in AK? I can see it now, grimlock says lets go! and slag says we cant go we are bolted to the floor!:hammer: Yes its a muppet vision 3d rip off joke but hey it was fitting.:D

Finally had the chance to see it today.

One word about sums it up.

*KABOOM* :sohappy:

Hehe, great flick huh?

Jimbo...

Sure, Devastator in the movie is dead.

What happens if Starscream realizes that he was the "brute" of the team and resurrects him and "improves" on him forming the Devastator we all know and love? This is Hollywood and a fictional movie that is loosely based on the Transformers franchise...Devastator could still be back.

There is a chance we see devastator in one of the next movies. In a USA Today article online you could vote for your favorite transformer that you want to see in part 2. Devastator was on the list and when you would highlight them it gave you a bio. It said that the Devastator in the 2007 was not the same character.
The voting went
1 soundwave (duh as if we didnt see that coming)
2 devastator/grimlock
3 jetfire
4 ultra magnus (my vote)

Im not sure if you can still vote.

Soundwave, Shockwave, Mirage, and Wheeljack would be my top 4 new guys.

2 Decepticons and 2 Autobots.

Of course I'd love to see a combiner but they could actually leave that for one whopper of a trilogy ender.

Actually the tank is named Brawl. There apparently was a fight between Bay and Hasbro, but his name will be fixed for the DVD.

Well, yes, leading up to the movie, the tank was Brawl...then the opening happened with the subtitle "Devastator."

I don't know if I'm buying the name change for the DVD...what if people don't rent the DVD and just watch the films in the theaters...and Devastator pops up in the sequel...

Devastator is dead, that's the route the Bay took, and I'll be a little disappointed if they just play us for idiots and switch it without any explanation in the actual films.

The problem they have is the toy packaging...all of the packaging for the toys say that the tank is "Brawl."

BTW, issue one of "The Avengers and Transformers" was pretty good...
It is sorta the G1 Transformers although the alt modes are a little different.

Prowl is now a silver Nissan 350Z (instead of a Datsun "Fairlady" 280ZX) and Bumblebee is a yellow New Beetle (instead of a vintage yellow VW Bug)...but in robot form they are the G1.

I'd say if someone only watches it once in the theater, and not the DVD or pays attention to the toys, that person is probably not going to remember the name of "that tank guy" anyway. They're not geeks like us, who remember little details, be they from sci-fi movies or theme park rides. One subtitle on screen is trumped by the toys, comics, video games, novels, and all the other tie-in products. Considering that Hasbro owns the characters and their likenesses, they get to decide what to do with their property, not Michael Bay. Transformers have always been primarily a toyline, with the fiction created to support it, so if the toy is called Brawl (or Jetfire), than that's the name of the character, not Devastator (or Skyfire).

About the Avengers crossover comic. That's really cool. What does Jazz turn into now? What about Ironhide, is he still a mini-van? Does that comic follow the IDW timeline, or is it a new branch of G1?
