Either of you guys mind explaining the difference between Starscream and Megatron?

Never watched the series, so here's what I know so far: Optimus Prime, Autobots good. Megatron, Decepticons bad.

Now... who are all the other guys? Bumblebee, Devastator, Frenzy, Jazz, Soundwave, etc.

P.S. Watched that Soundwave vid up above there, and I still thought it was effing hilarious.

There is pretty much no doubt that he will take control of the Decepticons. He assumed command pretty much every time the opportunity presented itself.
So what are the odds that when starscream takes control and if megatron/galvitron comes back he takes out starscream like in the cartoon. I hope not because I would like to see more of the power struggle, save it for the 3rd movie.

To tell you the truth nothing would please me more then to have Starscream melted down the instant Megatron came back as I could not stand his character in the animated series. He was a moronic, whiny, power hungry in the series. Now if they make his character more intelligent, sinister just a little to aggressive and power hungry I would like to see him stay for a movie or 2.

Prime and megatron are the leaders and the others follow them. Each has a role, bumblebee-recon, ironhide-weapons, ratchet-medic... If you see the movie they do an ok job at explaining things for people who dont know that much about the series.

^Good to hear. The names seem to make sense with the job.

There were soooo many more that weren't included in the movie that were equally cool too.

Wheeljack, Mirage, Hound, Skywarp, Sunstreaker, Inferno, etc. for the Autobots...and Decepticons had Soundwave, Shockwave, Thundercracker, etc.

Don't forget the DinoBots :D

There are also combiners.

(5 robots that combine to form one huge robot)

Galvatron is a reborn Megatron...

Megatron's life is spared if he becomes a slave of Unicron (a huge transforming planet that destroys other planets)...when he agrees to serve Unicron, he is changed into Galvatron.

^In that same vein... does Voltron have anything to do with the Transformers series? It seems like it should.

Hehe, similar...but different ball of wax. :)

Did you know that there were actually two different Voltron's?

Lion Voltron and Vehicle Voltron. (Actually I think I remember reading somewhere that there were actually 3 Voltron's...one was just a giant robot that didn't break into different pieces)

Lion Voltron had 5 lions...and Vehicle voltron had 3 teams of 5 vehicles (Land, Sea, and Air teams).

Voltron is closer to Power Rangers than Transformers, IMO.

I kind of started to dislike the Transformers when the next generation of characters came out. I never liked Hot Rod, Kup, Arcee, etc. (Although I did like Galvatron).

We call him "worthless Voltron". :lookaroun

I can't believe I'm this excited to see a movie based on a show I know nothing about.

The movie really doesn't follow the same storyline as the tv show or the comics.

The only basic thing you need to know is that there is an "Allspark" which is the basis of life for transformers. Nobody knows where it came from but it started the Transformers civilization.

It can turn electronic devices into living things.

The Autobots want to keep the Decepticons from gaining access to it...so they can't create an army to destroy the Autobots and take over the universe.

I will say they do a good job of getting the story going and its easy to follow. They made the movie accessible to fans and people who know nothing really about the transformers. So if you like action movies I dont think you can go wrong.

I'm actually glad they didn't follow the cartoon. Think about it...they just crash land on Earth and go looking for Energy. That does ok in a cartoon...but it really wouldn't go over well as a live-action movie. I prefer the way the movie turned out...it actually explains why they are here. It's not by accident...they have a purpose.

Yea I like that as well and It also gives a reason as to why they are still here and just dont go back to cybertron. Do you think that the small piece of the all spark that prime picked up will have anything to do with the 2nd movie? They sure made it seem that way. Do the autobots use it to some how make energon and thats what they are fighting for in the next one?

I was thinking, how cool would it be for Disney to pick up the theme park rights for transformers. Imagine a AA of prime or any transformer really. I dont think it would happen but it would sure go good at the studios. Something kinda like test track but your being chased by the decepticons and the autobots are trying to save you.... ah...one can dream.

I think Transformers would actually be an excellent replacement for T2:3D @ USF. Of course, if they want to do an actual ride with AAs and the like, then that'd be cool too.

I think transformers are a natural for any park. I just like Disney better.:D Since Universal just spent a whole lotta cash I think if Disney wanted to they could. I just want to see a giant Optimus prime AA that would be the ultimate for me.

I have had an entire idea of a theme park attraction that I'll PM you later on in the day. :D (Complete with ride technology)

With the feedback and reviews this film is getting...who knows...maybe this is the Franchise Giant that could compete with Harry.

That to me would be awesome. You dont need a whole land just 1 attraction, thats all. Again I dont think it would happen but I would sure love it to. The box office numbers are strong so far and with the sequals I guess we might have a slim chance.
