Transformers 7-4-07

That to me would be awesome. You dont need a whole land just 1 attraction, thats all. Again I dont think it would happen but I would sure love it to. The box office numbers are strong so far and with the sequals I guess we might have a slim chance.

How do you think the sequels should go?

Transformers 2: The Allspark is preserved in a Museum and "gets free" giving life to a robotic creature and also merging it with Dinosaur fossils creating the DinoBots. Galvatron gets introduced and tries to destroy Earth out of revenge while the Decepticons are led by Starscream. The Autobots call all to join the fight on Earth and eventually...Galvatron takes out Prime...with Prime handing over the reigns to Hot Rod.

Transformers 3: Hot Rod and the Autobots realize that there is more on the horizon than just Galvatron and they call on all of the Autobots...to come to Earth to defend it against Unicron.

Grimlock SMASH!!!!

I like the idea less the hot rod part:hurl:

:ROFLOL:
If they are smart they wont make the "killing Prime" mistake twice. As for the Dinobots I think grimlock in the style that the movie had would be Awesome. Since the transformers are more skelaton like, it would be perfect. Do you think the piece of the all spark can be restored? I thought Prime might use that piece of the all spark to produce energon some how and that would be what they fight about. I also think we will see unicron at some point and galvatron seems to be a given.

Yeah, I hate Hot Rod too...maybe save him for the 3rd movie. Keep Prime the kick-hiney leader until the very end of the 3rd film. That way, if they want to continue on...they can use Hot Rod as the leader...but use Optimus as a "Mufasa in the sky-like" mentor to Hot Rod.

Fun movie. I just saw it. Methinks it is my current "general fun, light-hearted" summer movie at the moment.

You hit it, "general fun, light-hearted" thats it in a nut shell. I guess its the "in" thing to do to rag on Bay. Im not a Bay supporter but this movie did what it was supposed to do, be a fun action flick with robots. The movie never tried to be to serious, thats not what the original was about.

Yeah, there are some people that go to movies and get disappointed when it didn't somehow change their life, show them the way, or explain why we are here on Earth.

I was entertaining myself on the way home today by thinking about an imaginary meeting amongst the Autobots before heading to earth that would explain why they would all choose car disguises whilst the badguys can whiz around at Mach 6 as a fighter jet or as a military helicopter.

Optimus: And thus I have chosen the name autobots, so we will all be cars.

Randomly chosen autobot, say Jazz, "But don't you think it would be useful if one or two of us could fly? How about a boat. If we have to travel across the ocean we don't want to hang around waiting for an ocean liner."

OP: Look, I picked the name autobots. It just doesn't work if we're not all cars! If we were planes what would we be? Flybots? That's just stupid.

Jazz: Look, I think that's a bit silly...

OP: Let's see here, who's in charge? Yeah, that's what I thought. Any other suggestions. Good. Let's get going. We got the signal from Bumblebee.

I think my commute is a bit too long. :lookaroun

In the original cartoon...only Decepticons had the ability of flight.

(Of course, there were Autobot jets that came along later).

Yes but they didn't start out as Autobots did they?

Weren't they their own "group" and they turned good?

ME GRIMLOCK NO LIKE MEGATRON!

GRIMLOCK SMASH!

The dinobots were created by the autobots at least in the animated series. I remember the the autobots found some dino bones and they thought it would be a good idea to make the dinobots. The dinobots went crazy got deactivated and then got upgraded in a later episode. Im sure there is a bit more to it but its been what, 20yrs so my memorys not so good. In the comics they are a elite autobot group from cybertron, kind of like a special ops force, if I remember right.

Well I guess after this weekend the movie is a hit. It passed the 200mil. mark and I was reading that no tv show to movie has ever done that domesticly.

There was no way it was topping Harry Potter...but to pull in another 36 million is VERY respectable. (Actually, in a 5-day opening...Transformers pulled in more than Harry Potter...)

I think Transformers would actually be an excellent replacement for T2:3D @ USF.

I know it can't stay forever, but as far as films go Transformers can't hold T2's jock. I thought it was decent and all, but I didn't think it was anywhere near as good as The Island, but was better than Armageddon or Bad Boys II (which is one of the worst movies ever). The effects are fantastic and Shia was very good, but everything else was either uninteresting or bad. The entire military subplot was a disaster and should have been cut. Jon Voight was unintentionally hilarious and the rest were just boring. If they spent more time with the Shia and Megan Fox characters and forgot about all other human subplots, it would have been a much better movie.

Sorry you must have seen the wrong movie, I thought it was the best action movie out of Hollywood in years bar none. The human cast was fantastic and only surpassed by the big metal cast. Josh Duhamel, Shia, Fox, Voit, all of them awesome!:sohappy: I can't wait for the second movie!! I say SoundWave makes his return with Shockwave and Devastator to revive Megatron and resume the battle on earth. Until that is Fortress Maximus and Omega Supreme get that signal they sent out in the first movie to come help!

Regarding the whole flight thing: In the original 3 part episode, "More than Meets the Eye", all Transformers were capable of flight in bot mode. After that, they changed it so that only the Decepticons could fly, making them more of a menace until the introduction of the Aerialbots. Of course it caused a continuity glitch with those first episodes, the writers just sort of pretended those scenes never happened I guess.
