Luckily I still have mine :)

I know this is a Transformers thread...but has anybody seen the new Staction figures for Masters of the Universe?

They are pretty freakin' cool lookin.

I collected the new line of MotU but I'm thinking about selling that set and purchasing the complete staction line.

Set 1: Hordak, Snout Spout, Clawful
Set 2: Grizzlor, Clamp Champ, Stinkor
Set 3: Mantenna, Tung Lashor, Sorceress
Set 4: Snake Face, Leech, Webstor
Set 5: Rio Blast, Sssquueze, Evil-Lyn

Set 6 has been announced which will have Jitsu, Mosquitor, and Battle-Armor He-Man.

15 days and counting....
I know I cant wait! We leave for Disney early sat. morning and the day after we come back...... TRANSFORMERS BABY!!!!!!!! That will be a great week!
What we have seen so far according to Bay has no what he calls "money shots" of the transformers. If that is the case, man how sick are the effects in this movie gonna be.

but has anybody seen the new Staction figures for Masters of the Universe They are pretty freakin' cool lookin.
Wow they do look awesome. I think they look better than the orig. figures.

True anecdote that I thought you guys would appreciate -

I was born in 1969. I have two neighbors one who was born in 1969 and one who was born in 1968. I'm married with kids, one of my other neighbors is married with kids, and the other has a girlfriend. None of us are Transformers experts/fans. In fact the only name I can recall is Optimus Prime. I give you our birth dates cuz I think on average we were just a little too old when the TV shows were at their peak. Now on to the anecdote -

The other day we were having a pinata smashing on my front lawn for my son's birthday, neighbor #1 came by and the subject of movies came up. As the conversation was winding down he said, "Have you seen the ad for the new Transformers movie?" and I blurted out, "That looks completely bad a$$!" At this point our respective significant others were staring at us like we were insane. The next day, my wife and I took advantage of her parents being in town for the kid's birthdays and went out to see AWE. Before the movie a Transformers preview was played. I was whispering things in her ear like, "Doesn't that look fantastic?" More looks from her that indicated she was referring to my as "Captain Crazy" in her mind. When we get back from the movie I'm talking to neighbor #2 and it turns out he got all excited when he saw a TV ad and HIS WIFE thinks he's crazy. Now the 3 of us all have plans to go see Transformers and at our current rate we may have a trip that involves 78% of the males in our subdivision by the time we are done.

Michael Bay's job is done.

He didn't want to make a movie that would only appeal to the "Transformers Fans." This isn't a remake of the original Transformers...this is a movie based around the characters that will work in present day and will appeal to a much larger fan base. He knows that the "Transformers Geeks" will go to this just because of the name. He didn't need to convince them...he needed to pursuade the rest of the people.

Yes, this is a "guy flick" but, for the most part, where there is a guy...there will probably be a girl with him. Girls can appreciate a great action flick as much as the next guy :)

This is pretty much all you need to know.

Autobots:
Optimus Prime - Peterbilt Rig (leader)
Jazz - Pontiac Solstice (Hot shot)
Bumblebee - Chevy Camaro (no matter how much we "geeks" dislike it) ("the small guy")
Ratchet - Hummer H2 Rescue Vehicle (medic)
Ironhide - GMC Topkick Pickup (the brawn)

Decepticons:
Megatron - Stealth Alien Jet (leader)
Starscream - F22 Raptor (sidekick trying to become the leader)
Brawl - Tank
Blackout - Military Copter
Barricade - Saleen Mustang Police Cruiser
Scorponok - Robotic Scorpion (I never understood this) (is part of Bonecrusher)
Frenzy - Cell phone/MP3 player (is part of Blackout)
Bonecrusher - Military Construction Vehicle

I may have missed one.

No worries though, I highly doubt that the storyline will have any tie-ins to the original story. (Aside from needing Energy for their home planet).

Yea my wife thinks of me the same way, the only diff is that nerd seems to come up a bit. The funny thing is that my friends who want to see it the wifes are all warming up to seeing it as they see more of the trailers. My wife too is saying she might want to see it with me now.

Only thing I'm really wondering is if any of the Transformers will have the same attributes (if that is even the word I'm looking for) as their cartoon selves (i.e. will Starscream still try to become the leader?)

BTW, some clips have popped up at IGN. John Turturo's character is an a##hole

Well, I've heard interviews and the one "attribute" they specifically touched on was the "banter" between Starscream and Megatron...and they said that they did include it in the film.

I'm a little upset the Wheeljack didn't make the film...he was definitely one of the "main characters."

At least there is word that a sequel will include Soundwave.

If you go to transformersmovie.com you can see some Q & A about the movie and characters. They did say the starscream megatron dynamic will be there. From everything I have read it seems they tried to keep the "spirit" of each character from the cartoon, like bumblebee IS the same as the show just a new alt mode.

The thing I liked seeing in the trailer...was Spike and Bumblebee working together during the battle...that is JUST like G1. Bumblebee couldn't do it on his own and neither could Spike...but if they worked together, they actually "helped" the team.

That was very cool, it made my morning. Of course now I am wondering what other tricks the transformers have. Day by day the excitement grows.

I kinda like the idea of having the "Battle Helmet" with facemasks.

It makes the Transformers have the ability to show more emotion. Plus, you'll know the shiznit's gonna hit the fan when the facemasks go on :)

I must hear Optimus say..."Autobots, transform and ROLL OUT!" at least once :D

I am sure you will get your wish, the people from the movie in a interview said that primes signature line is that. I know that as soon as I hear that and the transforming sound I might wet myself.

I thought that his signature line was "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings."

I don't want him to say "Roll Out" more than once...just towards the end right before the final battle :)

I just got back from a week at the world and I am now SUPER excited about seeing transformers tomorrow. Bring on Optimus kicking butt!

WDWFREAK53 Let me know what you think when you see it.

It looks like the transformers game will continue the "movie games are not all that good" tradition. I guess I will have to rent this one before I buy it, I was really wanting this to be a great game and break the bad movie game mold.
