I took my son to see it today. Overall a really great movie. Far better than I thought it would be. Loved the Autobot interactions. It takes a while before you get to see Megatron or Starscream, though. Otherwise, I don't really want to give anything away to people, so just go and enjoy.

I've never been interested in Transformers until I heard about this movie. It looks pretty darn cool to me! Maybe I'd look at it differently if I'd grown up with it and was interested in it!

I was never interested in Transformers, but still, this movie was pretty much utter crap. Very choppy (brainless action! crude comedy! tons of story to fill in gaps for... more brainless action! crude comedy!) The kid from Even Stephens was in it, when he got hurt and nearly killed I was cheering for it. It just seemed everything was pointless to a point and was just there for the sake of being there. Even the deep down ideals of the movie where half-assed and thrown out there to flounder half way through the movie. The finally action scene was rubbish, you could hardly figure out what was going on and nothing was explained at all.

Saw the movie last night and completely LOVED it. I never really watched the show Transformers, but I was a the biggest Beast Wars fan when I was in elementary school (and I still have my 40-something action figures :lookaroun ). There was a lot about the movie that I loved. It was funny, it had tons of eye-popping action. It was a nonstop ride the whole time. I thought it ended a bit abruptly, but it was still good. Definitely one of the best this year.

Saw it yesterday. I have to give it two grades.

A - Easily the best visual effects I have ever seen. The guys at ILM really outdid themselves. The bots look fantastic, and their interaction with the surroundings was phenominal.

C - The script was a mess. Give me a week and my Final Draft software and I could easily trim out at least 30 min of the film by cutting some useless characters and sub-plots. Honestly, it makes no sense that we have to spend more time with badly written human characters and only get a few moments to get to know the bots. Worst of all, when we do meet the bots...they have to throw in a silly stereotype.

Overall...looks great...but that's really it. I liked it better than Spidy 3, which I thought was a complete train-wreck.

I agree in fully Lee. I shouldn't have been as harsh, I DID LOVE the great special effects. The point when they are on the dam and they go to leave, it really did look like they had a bunch of giant robots there in person. Some of the most spectacular special effects I've ever seen. But again, it's the sugar coating and chocolate on dog turd...

It seems as if the critics are split on this. Some are saying its great while others are saying its terrible. I'm still debating on seeing it myself...

OK I just saw it and I loved it. It was just as I thought it would be, the script was average but I didnt expect it to be some in depth life changing script. If I had to pick a couple things I didnt like it would be to much of the humans and not enough bot development and prime having a mouth. I loved all the nerd candy for all us transformers geeks, they did it without being overly corny. I will agree that ILM out did themselves the bots just kicked butt. All I can say now is BRING ON TRANSFORMERS 2!

This movie was absolutely amazing,I avoided any kinda reviews prior to it coming out so I couldnt be swayed while forming my opinion myself.

I loved the fact that they geared this movie more towards those who grew up on it rather than kids today.I was pretty shocked to see the more adult themed humor in it.And to hear Frenzy say "Oh s**t" was very funny

All the bots looked phenomenal and its good to see they didnt overdo nor underdo the amount of bots in the movie.I was kinda eehh about Megatron's appearance at first but it didnt even cross my mind watching the movie.Optimus Prime being voiced by the same guy from the cartoon was a VERY BIG plus,I honestly dont think I couldve pictured anyone else doing his voice.

Shia LeBeouf did an excellent job as well,I think this role will probably make him a name in Hollywood

Over all I'm giving the movie a 4.5 outta 5,and i definitely cant wait for the sequel(s)

Soundwave,Laserbeak and Ravage better be in 2!!!!!

I can definitely say one thing. It's a good thing that Bumblebee wasn't a VW Bug. The entire beginning just screamed Herbie. (Um, didn't Herbie bring them to makeout point in the original Love Bug?)

Overall I loved the movie though. It wasn't perfect, but I absolutely loved it for what it was.

Here were my problems.

1. The interaction between Megs and Starscream wasn't really there. I think Megatron made one reference to Starscream failing yet again...but that was about it.

2. Devastator. Was this a change at the last minute because he was originally going to be "Brawl." Major disappointment to me because Devastator was one major kick-butt combiner...and to have him just be a normal bot was a letdown in my eyes.

3. Frenzy. He was very "Laserbeak/Ravage-like" but he just didn't do it for me. Thank God they opted against naming him Soundwave.

4. Jazz...since when is Jazz a thuglike character? He had the moves of Jazz...but the voice and the dialogue really didn't work for me.

That's really it though...I looked past the dialogue amongst the characters because this movie really wasn't about the humans...and shouldn't have been. It truly was a battle between the Autobots and Decepticons and that's what it was suppose to be.

The bots looked amazing...and I even thought the story was great even though it differed from the original story. It almost made it believable with the conspiracy theories and stuff.

I give it 8.5/10.

I was thinking the same thing, At first I thought maybe they kept devastator a secret but oh well. I guess we wont see the "real" devastator in part 2.

*************SPOILER******************

I was a little shocked at what happened to megs. Do you think now we will see galvitron in part 2? It wouldnt make sence for starscream to go get him, That could be how soundwave comes into part 2. Just like in the cartoon soundwave helps him off earth after the battle. How will they bring him back? Unicron? or will they just have a new leader?

Since I won't quote your spoiler...

I think Soundwave will have a major part in the sequel. This just may be the way to do it...and yes, I believe Galvatron will make an appearance. Starscream will become leader...and Galvatron will take the leadership role away from him.

Oh, and is it just me...or did this movie just blow up Shia? This was his Spider-man...he's huge from here on out.

I was hoping that Bonecrusher would die at the hands of Optimus...and land in a construction site. At the end, you'd see the AllSpark near him...and "zap" him back to life...and then hit all the construction vehicles around him...forming Devastator.

Product placement was pretty blatant in it too

SPOILER!!!!!

What I see for part two is the Deceptacons getting a little ticked off at repeated failures under Starscreem's rule and a few of Megatron's faithful go back to earth reclaim the body and bring him back to life.

Yes, and Soundwave leading the "revolt."

1. Yes, this was the Shia show. I thought he did a great job he was perfect for the part. I first thought he might get on my nerves but not the case.

2. Now that would have been a AWESOME idea. Well I guess we can now hope for the combaticons and bruticus. That would be cool too. Of course since brawl was a combaticon that might be why they changed it to devastator so they can have bruticus. Who knows.

3. It did have major product placement. I did like the xbox 360 that went crazy, that was cool. That seems to be the thing with most movies now, get all the extra revenue you can.

I'm hoping that Soundwave is some military surveillance or communications vehicle. He could even be one of these:

or this...

Or one of these...imagine that missile launcher on his shoulder :D

I like the first one best. Lets just hope they dont make soundwave into a pimp my ride type truck with a crazy sound system or something dumb like that.

So do you think starscream was going to "rally" the decepticons when they show him leaving earth? And do you think that because bumblebee was damaged we might see a different alt form from him?

There is pretty much no doubt that he will take control of the Decepticons. He assumed command pretty much every time the opportunity presented itself. With the scan and transform technology they showed in the movie I'll bet providing that GM remains the sponsor he will stay a Camaro.
