I just want to point out this statement as untrue, have you seen Pinocchio? You know the movie the company’s anthem comes from, yeah Pleasure Island is the definition of nightmare juice.

There are other examples (Snow White Runs into the woods, Mufasa falls, Bambi’s mom, etc) but Pleasure Island is the Gold Standard.

Kennedy had veto power for better or worse and that is what is needed.

George Lucas famously had a stamp he used to approve concepts as they evolved through the developmental process. He obviously couldn't handle everything involved in the movies personally but he could manage the process with that stamp.

WDI needs somebody who 'gets it' to wield such a stamp. Joe or Tony are two possibilities for example. Though I'm sure there are many. WDI needs such a leadership position. It need not stifle creativity but the process needs a more disciplined framework and visionary. The line got broken at some point. IMO.

P.S. Uni has thrown in the towel at IoA but what they are doing will work with today's audiences. At least short term. Interestingly Epic Universe seems to be returning to established rules that are proven over time. Walt would be intrigued by E.U. I think.

I may have asked this a while back, but did all of the PeopleMover track support cladding work get done? What about any other minor refresh stuff they were doing?

Still ongoing. Only the upper supports are being reverted. The "legs" are having a upper piece removed, smoothed over, and being painted totally white.

Yes, it doesn't work well and looks lazy.

Several months ago, I said we're going to have three different Tomorrowlands. 70's TL by SM, some weird mostly 90's TL in the middle, and a weirder 70's/90's combo TL in the front.

Pick an era and go all in, please.

IMO The 94 Tomorrowland was the best of the "updated" Tomorrowland's, even though it was only half finished. Out of all of the attempts to make a Tomorrowland more sci-fi than futuristic, 94 felt the most coherent unlike others, like Disneyland's 98 bedpan of vomit.

To me that fits the idea of a Tomorrowland in a Magic Kingdom

Saying that they should have just taken a cue from Japan and use their pain scheme. Which is more pleasing to look at?

I was just there and the aesthetics of Tomorrowland are...terrible...you have this brand new sign, a few painted walls (why did they cover the art in Star Traders???), and some exposed/unexposed supports all over the place.

I’m hoping and praying that some TRON money is being utilized to “synchronize” the area into one cohesive look.

MGMT isn’t even making an attempt to cover the rusted supports on the people mover.

Any indications that they will continue with the “light refresh” they started- the painting and de-cladding? Martin said that the refresh was due to having someone who actually cared in management at Tomorrowland. I’m guessing said manager has been furloughed?

As far as I know the Facility Ops people who worked on this beforehand haven’t been called back, and have not been given a timetable to come back yet.
