Huge miss on Tiana's Place.

Tiana's Palace*. I think it should have been called Tiana's Place though

I'm kind of on the side of those who find Tiana's Place a bit of a miss.

It's obvious why they put it there and it is how it is as a retrofit of an existing restaurant. Anyone thinking they were going to step into the Tiana's Place of the movie, though, would be pretty disappointed when they saw the reality. If the whole point of IP integration is to allow people to step into the world of the movies, I wish they had of either built something that looks more like the restaurant from the film or put a different spin on this restaurant. This looks a little bit like what would have happened if Chef Skinner from Ratatouille took over the restaurant and started franchising it after Tiana passed away.

Well when you pick up a tray and slide it along the rails to get food, I would call that a cafeteria....cuz that is pretty much what it is. When you name it "Tiana's Palace" and it does not resemble the "Tiana's Palace" from the namesake film and instead has Cafeteria service, I think the criticism is valid. I did not say it looks terrible...

Maybe they should make it into the old NYC Times Square automat…except instead of feeding them coins, they’ll all have card readers…a window with 3 beignets for $6.00…powdered sugar extra…right next to the straws and lids…

It’s a legitimate thing to scrutinise. I happen not to agree with the complaints, but there’s nothing wrong in principle with fans criticising the design of a character’s outfit.

...especially since in the film Tiana has the most costume changes and is the most stylish of all the Disney princesses.

I thought it was really odd they didn't share much regarding this attraction. I wonder if they are further behind then expected or if it's just nothing to get excited about.

I thought the ride wasn't supposed to open until around December 2024?

They HAVE plenty more to show from what I've heard. They've already got a substantial amount of the new critter AA's completed. I'd also bet some of the human figures are already done too, more standard A1000s apparently. For some reason, they're keeping a ton about this ride a secret.

I also suspect this may be an older video. An "amazing state of the art Louis AA" was one of the first ones I heard was in testing last year. It sounded like it was in a mostly complete state at the time (at least the internals). Unless this particular Louis figure is different than the one they tested. But then again, why not show the one they were testing if so? It's pretty weird.

And as I said, myself and others are aware that a CGI ridethrough exists. They showed one of those for Beauty and the Beast and 7DMT years before opening. So they could show the one for Tiana as well.

It's a vague "late 2024", no specific month. Though they do seem to be going at a fairly swift pace based off what it appears. I also heard there was a desire from imagineering to get it done much earlier, some of the more aggressive people even pushing for mid-late summer. But it's up to corporate to allow it, dunno if they did.

They definitely have more done. Dusty over at MiceChat did state on a live the other day that they did hear some of the new music for the ride at a media event, I assume at the one where they took select media with them to New Orleans.
