I Have To Admit This....PROUDLY

This event is so surreal to me, I still can't believe it happened.

As I am typing this, I am crying over my keyboard for everyone, but mostly for the people who jumped from the buildings, the invalid/crippled people who couldn't walk down a set of stairs, and to all those elderly/senior people who had their lives flash before their eyes and will never see their grandchildren again.

As all have said earlier, I feel for everyone and I hope this tragic event gets its day of justice.

WOW! Many countries around the world are cancelling events that may attract large crowds. In Germany, Oktoberfest might even be cancelled!

Meanwhile, I have good news. I can sleep tonight knowing that loved ones are safe.

My dad lives in Georgia and works at Robins Air Force Base. As mentioned before, the government was on heightened alert. The base was locked down. For hours, he couldn't leave the building he was in, and outside contact was highly restricted. Luckily, he is safe at home tonight.

My grandfather lives and works in Washington D.C. He lives about one mile from the Pentagon. Thankfully he doesn't work in that building anymore.

I have been especially worried about my many friends from Blast. (mainly Naoki:() Their apartments are near the World Trade Center. They are all ok, but they were able to see the day's events from their homes.

Oh!!! And I heard about another significance of today's date. Today is Sep. 11, or 9-11...... as in 911.

Had anyone seen last night when Congress got together on the steps of Capital Hill when they broke out in song with "God Bless America"? I completely lost it. :(

This act must not go unanswered. The cowards responsible must be brought to juctice. I support any and all military action brought forth by our armed forces and our Commander in Chief.

I saw it. I thought it was wonderful, especially to see members of opposing political sides standing united.

The abandoned rental car people flew from Portland, Maine to Boston, and Maine's governor said they had New Jersey drivers licenses. :( All I can think of is they made their home where they could look at those towers every day and dream of the pain and destruction they would cause...

There may be a formal "Declaration of War" against Osama Bin Laden, his organization, and any state/government harboring him.
Afganistan better be on notice!

This will give the United States Military the legal authority to act without having to go thru the ball busting justice dept bull that ties the hands of our leaders.

The President has just gone into an important meeting with his National Security Advisors along with the heads of military. So some sort of declaration may be made soon.

This is from an acquaintance of mine:

"I am on board the greatest warship in the world, the USS Harry S. Truman. Unfortunately we will not be able to be involved in the follow on pursuit of these cowards but i can assure you that my shipmates and fellow service members will do whatever it takes to bring justice and satisfaction. We work hard in the Navy everyday. On deployment it is 12 hour workdays 7 days a week for 6 months. Some people in this country have no idea what this is like, it takes the experience to know. We do this for a reason, to be fully prepared to go into battle for the protection of this country, its freedom, and our families. Rest assured, our military is fully charged and ready to act. All that has to happen is finding the target and then stand by."

Airport Update

The FAA is currently evacuating all airport terminal buildings for a complete bomb sweep. Only ticketed passangers will be allowed in the gate areas. Check points will limited. Instead of the normal 5-6 there may only be 1-2. Also, they are now saying that flights MAY resume sometime today.

BTW Duckie, I have yet to hear from my friend. :(

I'll keep a good thought for you, DisneyFreak.

Be aware that they took people across the Hudson to shelters last night where they couldn't reach people to tell them that they are ok--and thousands were brought here to New Jersey for both hospital care and Red Cross shelters.

For those who didn't see Mayor Guiliani speak, NYC has vowed to rebuild. He said they have not decided on the plan, but that they the WTC area will be rebuilt.... Clean up is expected to take a few weeks....

They are still pulling people from the wreckage and they can hear voices....

120 dumptrucks of debris were removed overnight, which allows better access to the buildings where people are still trapped.
