Surrounding buildings, including the American Express building, are also collapsing now as a result of collateral damage...

The saddest part is the queue of ambulances waiting to take people to the hospitals...and not many survivors who need transport...

I just realized the date too....

Apparently, an associate of osama bin laden was to be sentenced tomorrow in a court house across the street from the WTC for one of the terrorist attacks somewhere...maybe there's a connection there...maybe not...

50,000 people work in the WTC...10,000 may be dead....this was designed to kill americans....
they could've taken out the Statue Of Liberty if they just wanted to attack an American symbol.

hi my name is chris and i am from n.ireland. In all my years of the troubles over here i have lost to family members to them sadly my mum and dad. I am only 17 and u may not think that i know what u are going throught not even here have i saw such a brutle attack on innicent cillvains. All i can say is that my prayers are with u all in this time of need and i will stand by america in what ever happens. The uk has just moved up to security level 2 and the prime minister has said that he will stand by ur country if they need it and i will to. my other concern is that my aunt works in nyc and we cant get in contact with her.

I was thinking that, Tramp....and they made sure they hijacked planes headed across the country that would have full fuel loads, but not international flights that would have had increased security....

You will likely have difficulty getting in touch with people in NYC for days--the main trunks that handle the calls have been knocked out...

Thank you for your thoughts Chris. It has been very difficult to get in touch with anyone in NYC because the phone lines are just jammed. Hopefully she is okay. Even being only 17 I'm sure you've been much closer to something like this than many of us here.

You've had your share of trouble, my friend. So sorry to hear about your mom and dad.... The US and UK have stood side by side before and will do so again. You are the one nation the US has been able to depend on consistently. The faceless cowards who perpetrated this atrosity will be tracked to the source and you will see justice dealt from the sky. The US resolve was questioned on December 7th, 1941 but apparently we have a new generation who has learned nothing from history.

update on wdw

I realize that there are alot of things more important right now but just an update on the goings on at WDW. I just drove over there (I live about 1 block away) and there are sherrifs officers at each of the entrances to property.. They are not blocking them but look like they are ready to at any moment. Downtown Disney is also closed in addition to the parks with WDW security at every entrance. My prayers go out to everyone.

FYI from WDW...

There was a bit of chaos during the evacuations this morning but it was suprisingly orderly and calm once people caught wind of why they were being evacuated. Resorts are still open and there are still lots of cast members on property. Security is heightened some, but it's generally calm. Rumors are already circulating that some parks may reopen for the resort guests later today if nothing else happens.
